Location is fantastic, in food street and easy walking distance to local town. Quite environment.

Mattress was too soft, and pillow was big too big. Would have been better to have more bottle of water in the room.

Comfy modern room! WiFi worked well, restaurants abundant! They helped me get about of Taroko for fair price. Need taxi to property, inexpensive ride!

Lanven Art House was clean, quiet and nice! Good-sized room and a luxurious bathroom. The bed was comfortable and there was a good choice of lighting. The owners worked hard to accommodate us by having someone there to let us check in the morning when we arrived on the train, even though check-in was not officially until afternoon. The location is lively without being too noisy, and an easy walk to the night market.

The only single unpleasant surprise was that I had to pay for the hotel in cash instead of with my credit card, as I had expected. Because I do not speak Chinese and the person who was there to let us in the morning did not speak English, I still don't understand why this was. It was only the second hotel in seven that I stayed in Taiwan over a two-week period traveling around the island, and it made me worry that requiring payment in cash might turn out to be some kind of Taiwanese policy and I would run out of cash before I could find an ATM. But all the other hotels took my credit card, so that turned out to be a needless fear.
