Very cheap

I didn’t feel very comfortable there, felt sticky all the time since it is literally located on the beach. A dog pooped just 3 centimeters away from my bag, which made me run away from this hostel 😬

Stayed for 3 nights in the dorm. Very basic facilities but was as advertised and expected. Might not be be for everyone but if you’re coming to surf and be on the beach all day it’s all you need! Only fans and open air, no AC. One shower, one toilet, one sink. Everything is shared with the family, it’s like a nice cross between homestay and hostel. They have several dogs and cats on site, all were friendly towards guests. By the second day they would accompany down the street or sit with me a a restaurant and walk back with me, so cute. Can surf on the beach there or on beaches nearby. Had a great surf lesson with the owner, Ulisses. Could take a bus from the highway either direction for activities in town. At the hostel I felt completely safe as a solo female, relatively safe walking in the area, might be cautious at night. Nice quiet spot on the beach off the main highway between La Libertad and El Tunco. Beach was clean and quiet. Restaurant in the hostel and lots nearby. Food in the hostel was fairly priced and was good. You’ll need to but bottled water from the tienda around the corner which isn’t a big deal.

Mosquito nets for sleeping and filtered water would make this a much more comfortable stay!

The ocean view, the food and Ulises the owner were really nice.

Unfortunately the place was messy and neglected, the furnitures were falling apart and it was mostly dirty (sticky tables, sand on the bed even before I used it). It was extremely hot at night, there was a fan but it didn't turn. It was FULL of mosquitos, and there were stray dogs hanging out there all the time. The lights were off at 9, you need to use a torchlight to read/ shower/ walk around avoiding the dogs sleeping all over the place, even on the upper floor. And it's pricey - especially compared to other hostels in the area, it's absolutely not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it.

Amazing slice of paradise. No crowds. Just you and the waves. Great hosts and people who run it. May it remain a gem.

Gorgeous location being right on the beach and the nicest staff. I felt very much at home. A must go for El Salvador.
