The room was small, not bad, but went to the bar/reastraunt your hostess was absolutely awful, not friendly, or accommodating, 8-10 tables open but could not seat us, reservations?? Bartender (woman) was lack luster, or waiter was amazing Once we got a table. Guess what all those tables except for one big one was still open, but yet we had to wait an hour! Hostess and Bartender really need some training on hospitality!

The room was beautiful - spotlessly clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

For the price, I didn't expect to have to pay for both breakfast and parking. Breakfast service was slow, so we wound up just getting pastries and OJ. We usually get a hot breakfast at hotels that cost 30% less. There was a lot of noise coming up the stairwell Saturday evening as we were getting ready for bed. I called guest services and was told there was a wedding party on the second floor, and there was nothing she could do about it. Fortunately, the party quieted down about a half hour later, but if they can't keep party noise from affecting other guests, they shouldn't book them. Finally, the ambient lighting in the common areas was not good. I had to feel for the key sensor to get into the room. I had to lean down to read the elevator buttons. The light fixtures were fashionable, but not very practical.

Love staying here! The rooms are very well designed and the over service is excellent!

We came for the Senior Olympics and had three hotel rooms at the Surety. Each one was fantastic and super clean and comfortable with ice cold air conditioning! The rooms were very well kept and appointed. Beds were super comfortable and the shower/bathroom had nice toiletries. The lobby was where it was at though! It had a wonderful little coffee shop and pastries place. A wonderful restaurant we ate at 3 times! And my kids loved the pool table and hung out there a lot! The best part though was the wonderful hotel manager who knew my name and gave me a shout out every time I saw her! She was amazing. She was a truly wonderful person and had the biggest heart! It was like you were staying at a family member’s place! She was that warm and friendly. You will not be disappointed. There are a ton of great restaurants as well within walking distance, plenty to eat, see and do! Loved Iowa!

Check in gentleman was less than friendly. No smile, nothing that made us feel welcome in any way. Thankfully the hotel was convenient and beautiful because his customer service skills, we may not have considered returning.

I didn’t stay at the Surety Hotel myself—I was coordinating rooms for our employees—but I had to leave a review because Brookly at the front desk was an absolute gem. My brain was fried that day, and she handled my scattered energy like a total pro. Super patient, sharp, and her personality? Loved it. Total vibe. What really blew me away was when I had to call back over a week later—Brookly remembered me and the whole situation. She made the process insanely easy and actually enjoyable. That level of care and memory is rare, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Surety Hotel is lucky to have her. If every place had a Brookly, the world would run smoother.

Property is very clean and well maintained. Check in was very smooth.

Loved my second stay at the hotel. The service is amazing and they are working on their parking options.

I had stayed at a property in West Des Moines that was horrible and I switched to this hotel and I’m glad I did. The room is modern, clean with a very comfortable bed. The lobby area reminds me of staying at an Edition. The restaurant is quite good with exceptional service. A few cons though. When I checked in they gave me a room that was already occupied. You hear a lot of outside noise and the street that the hotel is on attracts a lot of homeless. I’d stay here again if I came back to Des Moines.
