Courtyard by Marriott Penang

Had a nice chicken briyani for lunch. Surprised when they bring out a birthday cake. A cake that is special and shout out Penang. A nutmeg flavoured cake!!! Thank you Zam & Chef Affandi for making my day extra special 🧡💜❤️

Our family and another couple joined us for this trip. The Premier rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff were warm and helpful. Breakfast was noce. We were welcomed by Mr Fernandez. Just to mention some who made our staff all the more pleasant: Vanessa (front desk), Amin and Ganeson (concierge).

Good hospitality and services provided by Mr Murtazam n chef Ammar & chef Najmi from the kitchsn. The food was excellent especially the chicken biryani and nasi lemak. Satisfied with the service and look forward for another stay at Courtyard Penang. I was also allowed for late checkout at 2pm for prayer by the reception.

The hotel room is new and spacious. Everything is clean and decent.

What truly impressed my friend and me was his **remarkable fluency in Mandarin Chinese**. As travelers who sometimes struggle with English in certain situations, encountering a staff member who could communicate so effortlessly and clearly in our native language was an absolute blessing and instantly put us at ease. Govan wasn't just linguistically talented; he was incredibly **proactive and resourceful**. He anticipated our needs before we even fully articulated them. Whether it was providing detailed **directions to local attractions** (including some fantastic off-the-beaten-path recommendations we'd never have found otherwise!), **seamlessly resolving a minor room preference issue**, helping us **navigate local transportation options**, or simply offering friendly and insightful **conversation about the city**, Govan was consistently there for us. He tackled every request, big or small, with a **positive attitude and meticulous attention to detail**. His assistance wasn't just transactional; it felt personal. He took the time to ensure we understood everything clearly and felt completely comfortable. His deep **knowledge of the hotel's amenities and the surrounding area** was invaluable. There were several instances where his quick thinking and local insights **saved us considerable time and potential hassle**. He genuinely seemed to take pride in ensuring our experience was perfect. Thanks to Govan, what could have been a good stay became a **memorably excellent one**. His dedication exemplifies the **highest standards of hospitality**. He is a tremendous asset to the Courtyard team, perfectly embodying the spirit of attentive and personalized service. He didn't just do his job; he made us feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and well-cared for. **To the Courtyard Management:** You have a real star in Govan. His language skills combined with his exceptional customer service ethic are rare and incredibly valuable, especially for international guests. Please recognize and cherish him! The hotel itself was also commendable – clean, comfortable, well-located, and the other staff we encountered were also polite and efficient – but Govan truly set the bar extraordinarily high. **To Govan:** 非常感谢你 (Fēicháng gǎnxiè nǐ)! Your help was invaluable, your attitude was infectious, and your fluency made everything so much easier. You didn't just solve problems; you contributed significantly to the positive memories we have of this trip. Thank you for your hard work, your patience, and your outstanding dedication to your guests. We are deeply grateful and will absolutely recommend this hotel, largely because of the exceptional service you provided. Keep up the fantastic work!

Definitely one of the best ballrooms in Penang! Venue is beautiful, equipments were nice, food was great, requests were swiftly fulfilled. Thank you Jolinda, Murtazam, Kitchen and Engineering Team for the great food and service that helped make the event successful.

Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) had a B2B event in courtyard penang. The setup was good, very friendly and helpful staff, especially mr Murtazam, Shazzuan, KitchenTeam and Engeneering Team, and also Kavitra. Excelent Job to all the team. And also food was good

Wonderful experience in this hotel. I’d like to make special mention about Govan, I thought I left my charger n wires behind, I called the hotel n Govan took the effort to go up to the room to search for it. More about the hotel. Room was really comfortable, toilets luxurious. Super clean. Hotel staff courteous and efficient.

Pleasant stay. Buffet breakfast good value with many western & Asian choices. Staff very welcoming. Location was not ideal for restaurants, but plenty of local food offerings if that is suitable for you.
