Location good but sat nav struggled to find the place took 20 mins...

Decoration very basic..in need of a tidy up. Bathroom totally unsuitable.. sink too small, no place to hang anything ...no place to put anything..lack of shelving. Shower too big in relation to room. This room ideal for a workman working away from home but not a weekend stay over for a couple! Very noisy due to wooden flooring ...a few mats would soften it!.

Not a hotel. Shabby. No hospitality. Bathroom minute. Bed uncomfortable. Towels minute. Not worth the cost.

I didn't like at all the fact you can't lock your door from inside for a woman who travels solo is definitely not safe, the mattress needs to be changed, a lot of bulk and the worse the cold water. A hot shower is the minimum.

I had some family staying but could not accommodate everyone, so I booked a few rooms here as it was nearby and reasonably priced. The place itself was beautiful, rooms had period features, lounge and kitchen were very nice areas, all clean and tidy. The rooms were en suite and were clean. The location was good in a quiet area. I read the reviews beforehand, so I was aware that it was more of a guest house than a hotel, and the breakfast was basic and self-service. The check-in process was easy, I received good communication from the owner and was able to pick up the keys in advance, as the family was arriving quite late. Lots of parking space available.

I probably should have thought about it beforehand, but I did not check which floor the rooms were on and if there was a lift, so two family members struggled with the stairs, which were quite steep. I'm sure if I had asked in advance, this could have been changed, so it is not a criticism, just something to be aware of when booking. The building smelt slightly musty, and family said mattresses weren't the most comfortable. There was a bit of noise from other guests, but to be fair, this could happen in any accommodation. Another thing to be aware of is just inside the main door there is a kind of sunken area with a door mat. The area was well lit and it was visible, but still felt it was a bit of a trip hazard.
