Korpak Villa & Resort Raja Ampat

The hotel has a beautiful beach with kayaks available. The restaurant had good food and an amazing view, and the staff is widely available! The rooms were comfy, and we had a great view! The staff is very nice, helpful and friendly!

The bathroom tiles had mold, and the sewage backed up in the shower every time, bringing a bad sewage smell. Rules were not enforced by the staff! We had to inhale cigarette smoke every time we ate in the restaurant because the staff couldn't enforce the smoking policy! Disappointing!

Really nice place but our villa had holes in the window screens and gaps in the walls that let the mosquitoes in and the cool air out. Like several places we stayed in Indonesia there was no top sheet and the blankets were too thick for us. Also, the lighting consisted of one naked bulb on the ceiling, with no reading light. So, this would have been a great stay if I had bought mosquito repellent, a tropical sleep sack, and my head lamp.

The over-water bungalows were spacious, well-built, and comfortable.

There was no ladder to enter/exit the water for swimming, either from our terrace or from the end of the dock where the water was nice. So no snorkeling from the dock, which was the main reason I booked the over-water. Having no ladders is also a safety hazard if someone were to fall off the dock. There was also no wifi anywhere on the property, and no TV channels in the rooms. This is not normally important to me, but for such an expensive room one expects more.

location and house reef were great, and especially liked the bed comfort.

very bad constant sewer smell from the bathroom- this can easily be fixed with a plumbing solution (ie. u bend in floor outlet). Staff service very bad - staff constantly on break (eg. had to wait for coffee and drink from bar). Food very average

It is close to the main port

The rooms weren’t very clean and lacking in sound proofing as you were very much disturbed by the people in neighbouring rooms. the staff quarters were just behind our room which again was very noisy especially at 5.00am when they were getting ready to start work. We had a garden view room which basically looked directly onto the building 2.00m in front which wasn’t very pleasant. The pool had no seats or beds and therefore nowhere to sit. The food was very basic to say the least. The dive shop was mostly closed and therefore unless you had brought your own gear we we’re unable to go snorkelling. All of the above resulted in us cutting the stay short and we left early to another place which give better value for money and where we could actually get some sleep.
