Rustic house

De mensen waren ongelooflijk vriendelijk. Het zaakje beneden serveerde lekker koffie en lekkere ontbijtjes. Alle activiteiten die in de regio te doen zijn kan je via het hotel regelen. De kamer was prima. Misschien hier en daar wat verfraaiing nodig maar niets storend. Omdat het transport ons pas in de late namiddag kwam oppikken, mochten we ons nog douchen voor ons vertrek ondanks dat de tijd om uit te checken al gepasseerd was. En in deze temperaturen is dat toch een pluspunt :). Toen we vertrokken kregen we een Vietnamees drankje mee als bedankje. Een echt aanrader om hier te verblijven.

We had a memorable stay at Rustic House in Cat Ba. Huong and her husband are very accomodating and thoughtful hosts (thanks for traditional Vietnamese apricot fruit juice. It was delicious. 😊). They provided us lots of useful tips to optimize our time to get to know Cat Ba. Their cozy hotel is ideally situated to discover the island and is a magnificent place to stay. It's isolated from noise of the city center but remains very accessible. We had a very nice room and very comfortable beddings. We enjoyed spending our evening at the rooftop with our drinks made by the hotel staffs. Everybody's very friendly and accomodating. 🙂

Colazione ottima, staff cortese e disponibile per aiutarci prima e durante il soggiorno per organizzare la giornata in barca nella baia di Lan Ha e i vari transfert nonostante il blocco del traghetto per maltempo.

Stanza non molto pulita così come la zona colazione. In una delle due camere in cui abbiamo soggiornato durante il temporale entrava parecchia acqua ad allagare una parte del pavimento. Servizio lavanderia di media qualità.

5/5 – Exceptional stay and even better hospitality! We had a wonderful experience at Rustic House in Cat Ba. The rooms were spotless with excellent water pressure in the showers, and the location is just a 6–7 minute walk from the main town—close enough to everything but still peaceful. What truly stood out was the incredible hospitality. Huong, the owner, went above and beyond—not only during our stay but even after we checked out. When a cyclone disrupted ferry services and we were stuck on the island for an extra night, she continued to help us coordinate our onward travel and kept checking in on us. Breakfast and coffee were simple yet hearty—just the right start for our days of exploring. The team also arranged our Lan Ha Bay tour, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Cat Ba—clean rooms, warm hosts, and genuine care for their guests!

L hôtel est très bien situé à Cat Ba proche de restaurant et des plages à pied. Les chambres sont confortables et assez grandes avec tout ce qu il faut. Le petit déjeuner est possible et est délicieux. Le personnel est aux petits soins, soucieux qu’étroites passe bien pour vous et vous accompagne dans vos réservations d activités ! Top !
