"Nice but different "

The hotel was really cool! The room was big and perfect for us. One thing I wish I would’ve paid more attention to was that there isn’t anyone at the front desk. If you have questions you can call a number or ask the bartender if the bar is open. It was a little weird not having anyone there to answer questions or help when needed.

The staff was very helpful when checking in, though I did find some things that could have used improvement. The thermostat wasn't working properly no matter how many times we tried adjusting it, same issue my relative had from a different reservation, the light was being functional by a piece of tape over the motion sensor, so everytime it slipped off a bit the light would turn on, there wasnt enough towels and washcloths in the room when I got there. There was no housekeeping that came to clean the room, as the site states, it gets cleaned everyday, was not the case. The staff was helpful when they could help. Though they took almost a whole day just to bring towels so overall it was an ok stay but next time I will stay elsewhere. For the amount of money I paid for all the rooms I would have expected more out of this new hotel.

"very disappointed!"

Check in good. Only 2 bath towels no hand towels. No shower floor mat. No Kleenex. No ice or water, had to go to bar for a cup of ice and one bottle of water. Odd place for TV, when you look at placement of bed. Noise from Disco very annoying when trying to sleep!!! No plugins for cell phones!!!! What the HELL! Do not recall seeing an emergency plan. No coffee service in room. Spoke with another very pissed couple when we were leaving. If we don’t get a response back will warn others about trying this place out!!!

The location was great since we needed to clbe close to the hospital. The staff was amazing with the issues we had, though not part of our reservation but a relative staying at the same hotel didn't have towels from the time they checked in till the next day so we gave her our spare towels as well as pillows, it was no bother to us but this should have been something the staff should have handled properly before they checked into the room. In addition, I found that our room had no power going to the phone, as in a power cord, so it was basically for show, also the light in the room was motion sensored and was taped with red tape to prevent it from staying on and it was no help the the tape kept sliding off so the lights would randomly turn on which was very inconvenient. The website stated housekeeping was done everyday but that was not the case. The building was stunning and modern but lacked the simplest details such as stocking up the towels, having a working phone, lights and thermostat that works.

"Staycation are easy here"

This place was perfect. Shelton is by far the best and provides excellent service. Responsive and friendly. The room was just the staycation we needed. Bluebird suite is beautiful.

"Disappointed "

I was a little Disappointed, I called in advance before I booked the room, if I can have medical packages be went to the hotel before my arrival. I mentioned I was travelling to visit the Transplant Center hospital down the street. The gentleman said " yes" just make sure they have your reservation. Once I arrived, to checking no one is at the front desk, due been a self check in hotel, The only person I see was at the hyrol bar. I asked them if they received any boxes they mentioned they had no Idea and no one told them about boxes been delivered. I just hope at least the person would have checked the back... The Rooms walls are paper thin you can hear next door guest talking, when they watch TV, when they're using the bathroom or walking around. My neighbor had their TV on until 4am. Not Worth the price.

"Booking cancelled so hotel manager could make more money"

CAUTION BOOKING! DON'T COUNT ON THEM ACTUALLY HAVING YOUR ROOM FOR YOU!!! Horrible experience with having a room cancelled two days before arrival! Booked the hotel stay Dec 23 for Jan 24th. Received an EMAIL the evening of Jan 22nd that it was cancelled because they overbooked themselves. Instead of calling to see what they could do to make it right, they moved us 12 miles away to a much lower rated hotel for the same cost....telling us the great news that we would get double points! (I don't travel enough for points to be worth anything especially with the large amount of points needed to get real benefits.) I purposely booked this hotel because of its location to an event center for an event. Needed the specific room because out of state people were joining us. It was all done on purpose as a need. This hotel chain did not act sorry. We only got the scripted "sorry, here's points and a crappier hotel further away.” The hotel manager finally decided to email me and told me he had a big group decide to stay longer so he bumped other people out of the hotel so they could stay. The way he decided who would stay was by their point status with the hotel. It was all about greed for him. He chose to do anything he could for the extra money. Don’t trust this hotel manager or the hotel.

"Noise and parking issues"

When you get to your room and find ear plugs on the nightstand you should be worried. The walls are super thin so you can hear everything on the floor and in the hallway. Parking was a concern and not secure since it is shared with restaurants, bars and other stores. Lots of glass in the parking lot indicates break ins are a common. Plus, getting the free parking requires using a confusing app.
