The Brenton Hotel

Staff were super accommodating, place was VERY clean, bed was VERY comfy! Absolutely LOVED this place!!!

Spent a few days around Christmas with family and friend at the gorgeous Brenton Hotel in downtown Newport. The rooms were beautiful, the food and drink delicious, the location fabulous but the highlight of all was the wonderful staff. We felt like we were part of a family there. The concierge, Kathy, worked miracles; the atmosphere in the Living Room which is the bar and casual dining room, was always fun and convivial; the housekeeping staff, especially the manager, were cheerful and went above and beyond. And very dog friendly!

Beautiful hotel, customer service is fantastic. Great location, comfortable bed, Everything was wonderful, BUT…. Every room features a GLASS enclosed bathroom with a GLASS enclosed toilet section. Yes, some of the glass is clouded, but still there is zero privacy. Glass enclosure around toilet does not even cover the entire entry (think public bathroom stall, but in glass). In a room with one bed (solo travelers or couples) I’m fine with the glass wall for the sink and shower area, but not the toilet area. And for a room for families???? It’s really too bad, as the hotel is otherwise wonderful and can’t say enough good things about the staff. The toilet area fix would be easy, and if they do correct this error in form over function - I’d whole heartedly recommend. But until then - this is an absolute no.

The room was amazing, same as with the living room where we had breakfast. Great views of the marina. The only issues were with the bathroom: the shower was very hard to find the balance between super hot and super cold water. The bathroom sink was too flat and the water was not cleaning the bowl properly.

We’ve been to Newport many times. First time staying here and it didn’t disappoint. The staff was welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The atmosphere at the living was comfortable and cozy. Love the food and the drinks were amazing!! Maurice and the rest of crew really know how to make some delicious crafty cocktails. We will definitely being staying here more often.

Room and public spaces were excellent - and pet-friendly. Location is also excellent right in downtown Newport

We had a great relaxing weekend. Property is in a perfect location for everything Newport. Preferred Hotels properties are all top notch. Beautiful, well maintained and GREAT staff. Could use a true "full service" restaurant, not hust "light bites" although drinks and food are fantastic in a great setting. Very comfortable!
