Nice hotel, great staf

I booked a room with two queen beds and was assigned a room with one. The motel was booked and could neither provide the room I had booked nor provide a refund. I had to book somewhere else for the night, and am still waiting for a refund through booking.com.

Comfortable bed

Train horns all night. Couldn't sleep. Dirty bathroom with mold in shower and dirt stains in shower pan. Expedia customer service advised against me staying there after they spoke with the Avid staff saying they were incredibly rude to them. I should have listened. Unsafe area with motorcycles racing on the road outside the hotel all night. Breakfast was not good. The only thing we liked was the decor of the hotel.

There seemed to be an issue checking us in. There may have been a newer staff person still being trained and she needed assistance from a 2nd staff person. This person seemed irritated. The issue was straightened out. This initial interaction seemed a bit tense and not very welcoming. Upon getting ourselves into the room I went into the bathroom. I noticed the floor had some soiled spots on the gray tile. There was also hair left on the floor in the corner of bathroom. To me the floor looked like it had not been cleaned since the last visitor. I was giving the room a lookover after reading some previous poor cleaning comments from other guests comments. The shower also showed a film on the floor like it had not been cleaned. The beds were clean and the room otherwise was neat. The staff never acknowledged us or welcomed us back when we later returned to the room after dinner which I thought a bit rude. The next days checkout process was better along with a different staff member.

Comfortable bed. Nice staff. Great coffee fresh ground. I would go back.
