La Casa del Kéej Hostel

The rooms were very comfortable. They were clean and very nicely decorated. The AC was great and the wifi was Brawl Star worthy. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly.

During our stay the was a very heavy rainfall. Our bags were on the floor and since our room was a few steps down from ground level they got a bit wet.

Aircon, WiFi and near to ado bus station

Not for me. No water at times and slow when there was water, cold showers, toilet that would not flush away and took a long time to fill system. Mosquito, cockroaches. This hostel is in a time warp, would have been expectable in the 1970 but things have moved on and hostels are better, this one has not. But if your a young backpacker this maybe expectable. Very Expensive for what you don't get. Being once a developing/ 3rdworld water engineer the concrete open tank in the hostel is a breeding ground for mosquito.

Great location about two blocks from the ADO station. Great vibe and the owner was very friendly. Nice little courtyard to chill outside where you can chat to the other guests.

Location, 3-5min walk from the Bus terminal.

Many mosquitos, very noisy... no hot shower in the room...

Nothing. The online info is full of lies.

Online advertising - every room has a garden view - NO. Restaurant and bar - NO. Implies TV in every room - YES BUT DOESNT WORK. Well fitted kitchen -NO. And....my room (3) had a window in the bathroom only but no glass - a shutter which didn't shut properly and I had to tie with string for privacy. And....the bathroom basin taps didn't work. And......the owner shouted at me and threatened to report me to Booking.com for allegedly trying to break the front door which had a dodgy remote locking system. I hope he does as I have videos of this evidence to report him!

This hostel is in a good location between the bus station and the Zocalo on a quiet street. The decor is eclectic and the coffee is good. They also offer filtered water and a friendly environment for travelers.

The facilities were over-promised, with no 24-hour desk nor access to a restaurant and bar. If you pay additional for breakfast, then they will lay out some food for you to cook yourself. Toiletries are minimal, so travelers should bring what they need. The owners also had planned a big party on Saturday night, which they didn’t mention until a couple days before. Thirty to forty guests and electronic music until 5 am! They apologized and moved us to a somewhat quieter room the day before, but we would not have stayed here if we had known on booking.

Best stay in Merida. Extremely friendly owners, after few words we felt like with best friends :) Beautiful, sensual, spiritual patio, nice hammock out there, where you can chill out after hot day, comfy bed, cosy basic room.
