"Port Issac Weekend"

7.0

The location was perfect and the lounge was cosy. The kitchen was well equipped. The lounge and dining areas were comfortable.

The bathroom shower cubicle was small and a little tight and tired. The front door needs some attention as it would open unless bolted and the lock was very stiff.

"Love Port Isaac and this is a great option for larger groups"

The beds weren't made but one - and wasn't asked - but rectified bedding over the phone on arrival

"Quaint old cottage in heart of Port Isaac"

9.0

Unique, quaint old fisherman’s cottage in centre of village. Large kitchen area fully equipped, on 3 levels. Clean and well presented.

More detailed information re the parking would have been good. New Road CP is the closest, at least 8 mins up very steep hill. Best to drop off luggage near old school house using 1–way system. WiFi didn’t work but can get some internet from main bedroom close to window.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Absolute stunning property with all the quirks you would expect of an original Port Isaac fishing village cottage. Bed comfortable, bedding high quality. Highly recommended. Had problems with WiFi but pretty sure that's a location issue.

"Disappointing Property"

4.0

The house itself needs some attention. The windows were extremely dirty, both the side facing the road and the back. Kitchen utensils weren't clean. There is no phone signal at the property and no internet. The guest book has numerous complaints about the internet. As a result of no internet, this also meant that the TV wasn't working. We needed to be contactable due to having a family member ill at home and this was impossible. There was an emergency contact number at the property but we had to leave the village to get a signal to text them. It turns out this number is just for the cleaner who could not help us. There is no hot water downstairs either - we had to boil the kettle to wash up. There is a bit patch on the ceiling where there had been a water leak and there was also a patch on the wall by the table. Really needs some money spent on it. Really disappointed as the house has such a lovely character to it - it wouldn't take much to fix these things and make visitors stays really enjoyable instead of stressful. Such a shame.

"Comfortable and cosy, I would consider staying again."

8.0

The location was amazing, this was my 4th trip to PI and it never disappoints. We found the cottage to be lovely and cosy, with comfortable beds.

A little more attention to detail on the dusting wouldn’t go astray. The washing machine was an added bonus, but the dryer took around 4 hours to dry one load. The wifi was a total waste of time, but I understand the poor reception in PI.

"Despite these issues, which are definitely all 1st world issues, we had a nice stay,"

6.0

Location

1. The wifi didn't work at all. The old modem was useless. 2. All communication was blacked out, We could not use Sim cards or phones either. It was like a black hole. Wifi worked across the street at the pub though. 3. The TV couldn't connect to wifi so no Smart Tv even though the apps were on the TV 4. Normal TV reception was terrible too. 5. A coffee machine. Yeah! but no coffee. Not even a scoop 6. A washing machine. Fabulous! but no washing powder, not even a scoop. 7. Windows were dirty. 8. Hand rails on narrow steep stairs would be safer. 9. Some clearer instructions to use cooker or hot water. Never did find the 'Airing cupboard on the right' 10. We got parking details upon arrival but not from a message when we asked prior to arriving. More useful to know especially since driving and parking are so difficult. 11. Communication was limited to the details to access the key. 12. Perhaps consider a new front door and/or lock.
