"Wonderful cosy off season visit to Port Isaac"

9.0

The location was super central, right in the hustle and bustle of the village. I had my cup or morning tea on the sea front a stones throw from the cottage. Pub, cafes, 15 seconds walk Beautiful cosy cottage, log burner, range, quaint kitchen. Perfect for a couple's romantic getaway, a comfy stop if you're walking the coastal path or a small family.

Very small bathroom with shower only if you're sharing Heating isn't fantastic in the winter Cars and tourists coming down Fore Street can be a bit constant if you're in the cottage. The road is super tight so they come right up to the house. I didn't mind but it may bother some people so worth mentioning. Very steep stairs - again okay for me but worth noting not good for some.

"Absolutely loved Port Isaac and staying at Jacob's Cottage."

9.0

This quaint fishing cottage was a special place to stay right in the heart of Port Isaac. Shops and pub right outside the door. Absolutely loved stay in this Cornish village.

The stairs are very steep and a bit concerning. The bathroom needs renovating. We arrived at night, it was dark and being unfamiliar with the area we did get a little lost but a phone call corrected our directions.

Near to the beach

The cot had mould on it , paint work coming off the wall , crack in the sink upstairs that when all over the floor so had to used the towels given to clean up , no oven gloves , and the microwave was rusty so could not warm up bottle for our baby so she had to wait longer to be feed , was not safe to have a baby so had to move furniture to make sure she would not crawl to top of stairs

"Brilliant place to stay in the heart of Port Isaac"

9.0

We were in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the town. The Red Lion pub was round the corner and brilliant for meals. We did a walk and talk tour with Mike and met locals and visitors alike. Everyone was welcoming. Once we had parked in the car park we didnt move our car till we left - we stayed 2 nights. We loved walking round the village and over to the next village.

The key box was nearly impossible to get in to. It took a second set of keys to help prise it open. Just when I thought we wouldnt be able to get in we managed to open it. It could maybe do with being updated - maybe the sea air has weathered it a bit :-) It made us very reluctant to use it through our stay. While the house had loads of really useful stuff, I could not find a hair dryer - I didnt read if one was included but just assumed there would be one - its a bit chilly at the moment with wet hair - minor issue. Also of note are the extremely steep stairs. We had originally thought of taking my parents with us but they had other plans. Im glad we didnt as my Dad would not have been able to get up/down the stairs. For us it was a minor issue - remembering where I was before I headed down to the loo in the night.

"Had a great stay, cute and cosy. Great spot fro Doc Martin fans! People very friendly"

8.0

Cute and cosy Great location - especially for Doc Martin fans! Close to the pub

Stairs dangerously steep Shower cubicle opening very small No parking near the property or anywhere close. You even have to pay to park in the closest car park (350metres away up hill) Also the closest grocery shop is not too far away but up quite steep lanes

"Jacobs Cottage A Good Stay."

10.0

Very comfortable little cottage right in the very heart of Port Isaac. Right next to the Golden Lion so could have a drink with the locals as well. Clean, comfortable and tidy. The downstairs kitchen had a log burner so we went to Wadebridge Tesco and bought some logs which made it cosy. The front door knob literally turned and the front door opened all on its own accord one evening as we sat at kitchen table and there was not a soul around! Which was a bit spooky but fun. Mind you it is hundreds of years old. We loved it and will stay again some time.

No bad points really, the electric storage heater in downstairs kitchen did not work so may annoy some guests who are too tight to buy logs and use the log burner. No parking at all so we just parked up by the old school and walked down, but in summer season parking there would not be possible due to traffic warden patrols but you would have to use the main car park up top of village.
