Hollywood House - Sleeps 10 Guests

The location was fine for us. We had travelled by train, and took a bus from Cardiff Central to the property. This took a long time in the Cardiff congestion, so when going into town the next few days, we walked. We even walked with our suitcases back to the station on the way home. It was only 30 mins and was easy. UBER is good in Cardiff and we used it a couple of times, in addition to the buses and to the river taxi to Cardiff Bay. The house itself was on a very quiet street. LOADS of small houses opening onto the pavement, but ultimately no noise. No traffic, no sirens, no anything. It was helpful that there was a Tesco Express (and other shops) at the end of the road - close enough for easy access, but far enough to not be disturbed. The house was very pleasant. Plenty of space and VERY efficient underfloor heating. Bedrooms were good sizes, beds ok, and the shower was excellent.

Cardiff has a refuse collection problem. When we arrived, the street on which the house is situated and all the surrounding streets had piles of black sacks, and some other recycling bins on the pavements. These had often burst (maybe foxes?). It was all pretty smelly to walk past each day, and when they were collected (on the day we left, 4 days later), the refuse collectors left all the litter that had blown about. We felt that this whole area was just a bit dirty, which was a shame. The house also could have done with some more careful cleaning. It was obvious that the cleaners had given it all a cursory clean only, as there were crumbs on the floors and dust behind doors. There was also a bag of previous laundry left in one of the bedrooms. All that said, we still had a good time - I just think the hosts should be aware that their cleaners need to be more thorough. I think it would benefit from one more arm chair in addition to the sofa.

How clean and spacious it was. It’s like a tardis!

We loved our stay - property was clean and in good condition, and walkable to everything we wanted to do. Would stay here again. Pro tip - there’s a coffee shop run out of a church about a block away. Hours are atypical, but great coffee and the nicest people on planet earth!!!

Very comfortable. Lovely decor. Tea & coffee supplied, maybe a small milk in fridge would be good.

Location a bit far to walk to centre. Taxi about £8.

I liked that we had all our own rooms so you didn’t disturb anyone .The bed I slept in was really comfy .Also I always take my own pillow when I go away but forgot mine this time .I couldn’t believe how well I slept without it .

I think there could of been a smaller comfy arm chair in the living room .I suffer with my back and found the settee too low for me .I sat at the table on the bench most of the time .But my daughters found the settee really comfy .

Good location, house had good decor and bright & modern feel
