"A short break by the sea"

8.0

A great location, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and very clean

I put Parking in the search, I think a bit of elasticity was used in the description as the parking is nearly half a mile away up a very steep hill, the compensation is that parking is free in November,

"Great location, shame about the drains being blocked. The heaters were also insufficient."

4.0

Great location.

The shower and sink in the bathroom were blocked and smelt. This meant that the person who showered second had to stand in the dirty, cold water of the person who had showered before. The water flooded most of the room. It meant that when we needed to use the loo later we got wet feet from cold dirty water. The shower tiles were also quite mouldy.

Location, decor, comfort

Shower took a while to drain. As it's a wet room the toilet was inaccessible for 30 mins after. Might need a rod! Thanks :-)

"Really lovely few days away with my so . Would certainly go back to the same cottage."

9.0

Great location in beautiful Staithes. A proper little fisherman’s cottage. Stylishly decorated, clean and cosy.

The curtains and blinds would benefit from a wash, as they have some mould on them, and will probably help with the damp smell (inevitable in an old, dark cottage but a wash would help with this).

"Good location, closed to amenities, compact house, wide but narrow"

8.0

Location

It was fine for three ladies, however had it been two couples it would have been very cosy in the kitchen and sitting area

"Very Good"

7.0

Location great, no outside space but it’s a very short stroll to the harbour. . kitchen good and well equipped. Bed comfortable.

Bathroom tiles mouldy on grout just need a good scrub with bleach, not pleasant, Sofas uncomfortable and TV too small. Probably would feel a bit cramped with more than two people.

"Well equipped in a super location cottage."

8.0

This is a lovely, clean, tastefully decorated cottage so close to the front. Well equipped although I’d have loved a fresh coffee maker not a pod machine. I walked with my cup of tea down to the sea each morning. It was fantastic.

Perfect location. Once the car is parked up the hill in the chargeable car park, you don't then need it again until departure as everything is in walking distance. The accommodation is attractive from the outside, with two wooden benches to enjoy a cuppa with 2 love rosemary planters each side of the doorway, which we used in our cooking. Entering the property you'll find a small cosy lounge with a stunning fireplace and small TV with Sky/Netflix. Also DVDs, books and games to enjoy. Can often hear the seagulls in the distance which was lovely. The kitchen has everything needed to make a delicious meal to enjoy. Lovely having a dishwasher too. Nice touch having a small supply of quality tea, coffee and sugar. Thank you. The bathroom is downstairs with a walk in shower and heated towel rail. Upstairs you'll find two small cosy bedrooms with hangers for clothing and sash windows. One with a double bed and the second with twin beds. The mattress was comfortable. Love the blinds and curtains up there too. Gun Gutter House is perfect for solo or a couple. Or a small family. The accommodation is up a small alleyway, leading down to the Cod and Lobster pub, just a few steps away. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the village. Possibly best to pre book to avoid disappointment. The best thing about the cottage is you can make a fresh cuppa and take the dog onto the beach within a few steps. Lovely late at night or early morning to see the ever changing colours of the sea and sky. Would definitely recommend and would return.

Please refer to all the positives the holiday home has to offer.... This beautiful seaside retreat could be amazing with a little more thought. It lacks attention to detail with cleaning/décor in places. The bathroom had a smell to it and the tiles in there could do with a good scrub. The internal white doors could do with a good clean too. But even so, I would still recommend. The kitchen area was spotless.
