Higher Primrose Cottage

Self catering no breakfast!, so tihs part of question irrelevant, parking bit difficult but as house next door empty was ok , would be awkward otherwise and in season, position perfect in centre of village, so good Winkleigh is a proper working village but shame some shops closed down as for many such small places

Perhaps the cottage should have the heating turned on in morning of arrival day as was very cold, to start. The stairs would be improved by being carpeted. These are minor niggles, as it is obvious considerable care taken to make the place as pleasant as possible - mind u, the instructions on how to use the heating should be detailed in the notes as the words on the timer are far too small and the shower control is unusable to turn off with wet hands, is too difficult to turn until got dry and then need use a towel for grip

Excellent cottage. Perfect location, completely silent at night, everything had been thought of.

The cottage was a perfect hideaway. It had everything necessary for a wonderful stay. We loved the welcome basket and Higher Primrose Cottage was ideally placed and the off road parking was a real bonus. Many thanks.

The cottage was really lovely. With a table and chairs in the little courtyard.. Had everything you needed in the kitchen. I think my dog liked this cottage more than his own house.. lol 😆

The only reason I didn't give 10 out of 10.. Is because when you got up to go to the loo, the floorboards are very noisy.. And the freezer wasn't cold enough.. Not good for Ice creams and cool blocks.. Although it was over 32 degrees when we visited... But couldn't fault anything else. I will say though. Find a supermarket before you arrive in winkleigh if you want a bigger shop.. Otherwise there is a small local shop and post office right on your doorstep.
