It was fine , one nighter as usual in Stratford , it works for us

Disappointing. Although it looked great on the website and obviously had been an amazing property at some stage, it was tired and quiet shabby. The room was nice, generally clean but had obviously had dogs in at some stage, as this set our allergies off. The hotel is obviously geared to large coach parties and weddings. There was indeed a party there and we were therefore restricted as to when we could eat in the evening (bar or restaurant) and when we did decide to have bar food and agreed a time, there was no fish and chips and no scampi available, from an already limited menu (this was after we had ordered drinks at the bar to be told that they had run out of lemonade mixers). We ate somewhere else. Breakfast was a buffet and ‘ok’ As I say, disappointing, we had moved from another hotel at the last minute due to being let down, and this was a birthday celebration, so we won’t be revisiting (especially as we had travelled from Cornwall!).

Recently re decorated so very tidy. Nice to have a decent sized TV. Not a lot on the menu but really enjoyed the pork and the pale ale wasn’t bad either

Friendly staff. Looking a bit dated in the room. Food served was not the best. Fish overdone as is the bacon at breakfast on the plus side scrambled eggs are good. Cleaner polite and efficient. Restaurant clean and tidy. Dining room toilets are smelly. Ideal base for Stratford. Overall impression is a good budget hotel. Could be so much more.

So charming - a lovely older property with character. We dined in the house restaurant two nights and found the food to be delicious. The breakfast was very good as well, with the typical English breakfast and pastries. The staff were so pleasant and helped us with various needs. The property is quite large and spacious. The decor, while a little dated, was really charming and the bathroom had all new fittings. We loved being able to open our window in the lovely weather and not having to pay for parking was a bonus. I would love to stay here again.

The stay was ok the bedroom was functional, however some of the screws were missing on the bunkbed and the Matress on the double bed was rock hard

Fairly frequent stayer here , room we had this time 103 was effectively a suite , very large and comfortable. Easily the best we’ve had here

It is difficult to give a balanced review of this hotel as it is a hotel of two halves. We booked two rooms, one was newly refurbished, clean and in excellent condition. The other was grim with unfinished plaster amidst the dirty paintwork, curtains that did not hook on the rail and uncomfortable mattresses. The rooms are being refurbished 10 at a time, so it's pot luck as to the type of room you get. Based on the room we decided to eat elsewhere in the evening. Breakfast was a chaotic affair with no bowls or teaspoons, the milk and orange ran out. The coffee machine did not appear to have enough milk to make a white coffee.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the room was large and comfortable, it was exceptionally hot in the room, despite being April and not warm outside. Fortunately the hotel provided a large fan which helped. The shower was disappointing- more of a dribble than a torrent. The staff were polite but not engaging. Overall I would recommend it.
