The Inn at 257

I cannot “rate this property” because we never got to stay there although my receipt says payment for”The Inn at 257.” We were relocated, After we booked, to a property they manage at 231 Rutledge St.

This is all about price and expectations. With taxes and fees for 4 nights it came $1600 plus! We expected a nice place like the reviews we read online. A courtyard and a pool next door we could use with their adjacent house. But No!! We were quite a distance away. It’s not even the property of the Inn at 257! The place was run down. It was spacious but only slept two. It was clean but looked liked it was furnished decades ago. Soft mattress. Broken door handle in the shower etc.. Not worth anywhere near $400++ per night.

My husband couldn’t handle the shower bathroom but I loved it. Too bad the fireplace no longer worked 😊

This was not the property that I booked. I was directed to a separate location down the street not the property shown in the photo and on Booking.com.

It was not the property as shown on Booking.com, but another location entirely. It was a classic bait and switch.

The host was incredibly communicative/responsive. They provided such nice facilities & the property was beautiful. The location was also great & easy to get to.

Quite simply the best self catering we have stayed anywhere in Europe or the US. The attention to guest comfort in Apartment A2 was on a different level. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay was here.....we wanted for nothing. The bed was immense and really comfortable.....shower huge and really refreshing. Kitchen was well equipped and nice to have some coffee provided as well as a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. The owners were always on hand and responded to messages very quickly. They reserved the biggest parking spot due to the size of our rental car which was coned off ready for our arrival. There is also a plunge pool with sunbeds which we peeped at and it looks good. The location to Central Charleston is less than 2 miles and easy walking distance as its all flat. I could go on and on but will sign off by saying that if we visit Charleston again I am not booking anywhere else and may consider amending travel dates it was that good. Just book it you won't be disappointed!!!!

We visited Charleston for the first time and absolutely fell in love with the city — its style, charm, and beauty. We will definitely be back. We chose The Inn at 257 for our two-night stay, and it worked out really well. The location is excellent — we walked everywhere and didn’t need to use the car at all. There is parking in the courtyard, and the property also has a pool. The room was bright and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed and pillows. It had everything we needed, and the complimentary wine was a nice bonus. As a small tip for light sleepers, you might want to bring earplugs, as in the morning you can sometimes hear people walking and talking outside the windows. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place.

Beautiful room. Well stocked. Comfortable bed. Very friendly owner!

Had a hard time operating the TV. Shower was a different experience but got used to it😊

Tiny room with no room for suitcases. Bathroom had no vanity or Showerscreen so wet everywhere. Spiral steep stairs to get to our tiny room. The pictures they show are nothing like what the room is like. False advertising

I like that the door code was super easy and we were able to walk right in once we arrived
