Hampton By Hilton Manchester City, Northern Quarter

Location was great for our visit to the Etihad Stadium, and the secure underground car park was a definite bonus (although a little expensive). The room was fine, bathroom felt very new. Air conditioning did work. Breakfast was good with enough variety. Overall was a good option for our needs and we would return.

It would be nice to have king sized beds - there was enough space in the room.

Thought it was out of the way, but soon discovered the charm of the Northern Quarter. Character red brick 19th Century industrial feel buildings. Lots of back streets with traditional bars, restaurants and pubs. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable apart from a no power shower and air conditioning that did not work.

Breakfast was chaos. Small badly organised area. The hotel hadn’t planned breakfast to match the guests booked in. With gigs at the Etihad Stadium and AO arena, this should have been expected. We got down before 9am but those that arrived afterwards were in long queues and some did not stay fir breakfast. Limited fruit options and no cakes. The coffee machines did not work and at one stage there were no mugs.
