Temple Hotel Daitaiji

Très beau lieu, bien placé à proximité d’une petite ville pour y déjeuner ou dîner si nécessaire (il faut avoir une voiture). Il est possible de dormir dans le temple mais c’est un grand « appartement », sinon le petit cabanon à côté est très confortable, dispose de la Clim, et le réveil sur la forêt est sublime. Nous avons aussi essayé la méditation, ainsi que le sauna qui se situe au bord de la rivière. Très calme et serein.

On aurait aimé plus parler avec l’hôte, mais c’était aussi la haute saison donc bon, on n’allais pas l’accaparer

De Daitai tempel ligt prachtig gelegen. Er is ook een kleine camping. Je kan een kleine twee peroonskamer boeken of bijna de helft van de tempel (familie kamer). Wij hadden de mooie familie kamer geboekt, die bestaat uit verschillende tatami kamers, met hoge en lage tafels, prive badkamer en twee slaapkamers voor de futons. In de gezamelijke keuken kan je koken en eten. Er is verder geen eetgelegenheid, dus je moet zelf alles meenemen (supermarkt Hati is op 10 minuten rijden of uiteten in Katsura. De ochtendmeditatie was informatief.

Amazing old style temple with awesome road that takes you to the hotel. There is a small common kitchen you can use to prepare a small dinner or breakfast. There was also a common bathtub that was very good.

The staff is there until certain hour, so check-in times are not very flexible. The shower was outside our room, but just a few meters away.

I loved this peaceful, quiet little place. I loved bell ringing, prayers, zen meditation and made the most out of the beautiful experience. I also enjoyed putting my legs into the river below. Thank you for having me :)

We had a lovely time at the temple! We had four of the temple experiences and in addition got to ring the dong at sunset which was very special! From the experiences we took the statue tour, the morning prayer, zazen meditation and the monk porridge! The chief monk at the temple gave us great insight into the buddhist practices, and now we have tools to use forward in our own meditations! Ameneties and lodging were good, and we felt very welcome at the site.

I had a fantastic time here. The head monk is very knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. The experiences offered are engaging and the area is beautiful.

A great place to stay and the temple was stunning

We did a paid session on learning Japanese stamp making. The monk was nice but spent all our time on his phone and it would have been great to see him do a demonstration

Amazing temple experience. We did the morning ceremony, porridge and zen meditation. We really liked talking to the monk to get more ideas about Buddhism and learn more

It is basic but you are staying at a temple ;)
