Hilton Garden Inn Kalamazoo

Staff were friendly and professional. Lobby was interesting. Never seen an open bar as part of the lobby. I would prefer a more private bar that is not open to everyone walking in and out. Parking was not as convenient as it could be. When we arrived we parked on the side of the street with a door that let to the lobby but it required a key to get in. We parked in the parking garage and paid an extra fee of $20 to be able to go in and with our card key but when I tried to get out the card didn’t work and there was no one to help until I called the hotel and the manager came out to pay the fee with his credit card so I could leave. Other than that it was nice being back in Kalamazoo.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable

The shower could have had more water pressure. We also had to pay for parking

The breakfast cost $ 12 plus tax. It was basic, but it was not bad either.

There could have been a little more variety in the breakfast. One thing worth noting is that if you leave any personal items on the bed, the housekeeping staff will not clean that bed. That's their hotel policy. They say that they are not allowed to touch anything personal. Finally, the hotel is located in downtown; however, it's better not to venture out after sunset because of a significant number of homeless persons and drug addicts around.

It was very clean and I felt safe staying there.

Everything was okay

We had a great time. When we opened the door to our room, we noticed the odd set of stairs. During the night, I got up and fell down them. Busted my knee and ankle and hands. Im not sure the purpose of those stairs.

Physically, a very nice and clean hotel with a convenient location downtown. Free covered parking across the street.

We had reservations but my first and last name were flipped and although I showed the man at the check-in desk my confirmation number he told me that I did not have a reservation and offered no remedy to my situation. He did not offer to even look to see that a room would be available anyway. About 20 minutes later as I was sitting in my rental car parked in front of the hotel trying to arrange for an alternative lodging, he reappeared outside next to the car instructing me to come back into the hotel. He then explained that my name had been entered into his computer with the first and last names flipped. I was amazed that a computer savvy gen Z'er could have been so lacking in intellectual resources to figure out my problem. He seemed totally unconcerned about my situation.

Love the location. Beds were very comfortable lobby was beautiful. Loved that the parking structure was connected

We had such a great experience staying at this hotel! The hotel staff was amazing it really showed how much they care about the place and the guests. The food at the bar and restaurant was honestly amazing way better than I expected. Everything we tried was really good. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for what we needed. It just felt like the whole team really worked hard to make sure everyone was having a great stay. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Easy check in and check out. Parking was close by.
