Phi Phi Don Chukit Resort

Stayed here for 3 nights. Our deluxe room couldn’t have been further from the truth - basic as basic could be...gaps in the front door (mosquitos get in), a stained toilet seat, broken tv and blinds velcroed up. However, the room itself was clean, the aircon worked brilliantly and the WiFi was great. They need to do some serious work on the drains here - there was a vile egg smell in our bathroom constantly. We had to keep the door shut permanently. Location wise, it’s great - just off the hustle and bustle so quiet. I was pleasantly surprised to see at reception that you could rent pool towels and get laundry done (which we did, it was cheap and speedy). All in all, I won’t be returning. Basic I can handle - but the resort is very rundown and the room was just a bit grim, which when paying £55 a night I just don’t think is acceptable. Having said that, if you just want a bed to sleep in in a cold room with good internet connection, you’ll probably be fine.

-staff is not helpful or friendly at all, and quite frankly rude. Some of the boys helping out in reception were lovely, but that's it. -breakfast is mediocre to say the most, I pretty much had scrambled egg for 3 days. One morning I missed breaky by 5 minutes and I only asked to have a coffee, as super hungover, the lady shut me down saying they don't do anything until 12 - all this while having an all day breakfast sign lol. -the room was decent for the money, cannot complain at all, but the staff has the bad habit of shouting at each other no matter if day or night and several times and days we got woken up. The bathroom though smelled lovely the whole time. Whatever stuff was in there, it worked great. -the smells... Oh my god... The pool area and restaurant absolutely stink of poo 24/7. It was a struggle for my bf to smoke in the designated area and for me to spend anytime by the pool. Saying that, that is the Phi Phi smell so it might be an island thing. Overall, I wouldn't return to Don Chukit because of the staff and smell. If you don't care for those, good value for money 😁

Stayed at Don Chukit in December 2019 for three nights. It's great location, short walk to anything: beaches, the ferry pier, massage places, bars, atm. And it's not directly at the party places so you get a bit of peace and quiet. Breakfast was lovely and staff at the hotel is helpful and friendly.' The room is very basic. A/C worked fine, shower was a bit temperamental, TV was bust, but hey you're there to sleep and that's it, right?

The hotel felt overpriced for what we actually got! The pool area and restaurant were nice (although they are open to the public). The complex is a bit run down and very purple which is bizarre! The actual room was decorated well but pretty simple, however the bathroom wasn’t great and smelt a bit. We paid to include breakfast although we wished we didn’t, it wasn’t great! On one day we had a trip booked meaning we left at 7am. Breakfast doesn’t start until 7:30am, so the night before we spoke to reception to see if we could get something made up to go and he said ‘no problem, just be here at 7am’. Unfortunately the next day the woman on reception was adamant that no breakfast was to be provided before 7:30am, although her English wasn’t great! This was pretty frustrating as the price we’d pay to stay included breakfast- I suggest management clear things up with their staff about this! It would not have been difficult to provide us with breakfast, as when we walked past the kitchen staff were preparing it anyway! We also only got free bottled water on one day out of three days - minor issues but annoying considering we could have paid less to stay somewhere else on par or if not better than Chuckit!

Hotel is located next to mosque where they do prayers several times a day through the speaker, starting 5am!!! Did not get any sleep during the holiday. Wifi is very bad signal, A/C and fridge super loud. Bathroom moldy, no bath or shower just a shower hose coming out from the wall so after taking shower you will have water everywhere. No cupboard to store your luggage or clothes, just 4 hangers behind the door. Very poor choice for breakfast but super friendly staff in the restaurant.
