Granary Suite No22 - Donnini Apartments

Location near town

Dirty carpets. Low beam in bedrooms and bathroom.

It’s hard to find anything that we liked about the property when there were so many things that overshadowed this.

- We called a week before hand to say that they could not give us the property that we booked with no explanation as to why. - The flat had an awful odour when we entered. - WiFi code and password on the information card provided was incorrect, with the correct details on the modem (this was only realised after 15minutes of battling with the incorrect details) which was disconnected. - One of the dining chair legs is broken (needing a bolt tightened) so we were unable to use it. - The lamp next to the TV didn’t work. - There is only one bathroom with a shower: this is not suitable for four adults sharing. The second bathroom has a bath but this is completely impractical. - There are scuff marks all over the walls and marks on the carpet. - As we were leaving the apartment in the morning the corridor had a very overwhelming smell of weed, it’s apparent that one of the neighbouring apartments were or had been smoking adding to our very unpleasant stay.

Location was fine.

We were called on the 9th of May (5 days ahead of our stay) to say that the 2 bed, 2 bathroom flat we booked way back in December was now "offline" and no longer available. We were instead given the option to move to a 1 bed 1 bathroom apartment in Ayr or a 2 bed, 1 bathroom apartment in neighbouring Prestwick. We would have cancelled at that point but, with such short notice ahead of a wedding, we felt we had little option other than to accept the latter. The flat we were moved to (Shore View Prestwick) is generally pretty shabby and grubby, and poorly maintained: Bathroom main light very dim Bathroom mirror light not working - looks like there's no bulb in it Bathroom fan not working Fridge light not working Part of broken kitchen plinth lying on floor No dressing table in either bedroom No handles on the main bedroom wardrobe doors Cigarette ends all around the front door and seating area On top of all that, there was the constant noise of our upstairs neighbours stomping about.

Lots of space. Comfortable beds.

A window couldn’t be closed so the bedroom was freezing cold and some rain came in. My daughter moved the mattress into the lounge and slept there. The blinds and bathroom s felt shabby.

The location was fantastic. Very central and perfect for the Air Show.

It was difficult to locate the flat within the building as it wasn't clear which number we were but a helpful neighbour pointed us in the right direction.

Lovely, large spacious apartment perfect for our weekend in Ayr.

Spacious and nicely decorated. Quiet area, good coffee close by. Walking distance to the town centre.

En suite was very tired, living room carpets stained and tired. Oven interior not clean, frying pan should be replaced. Not clear which bins were for which rubbish.

The apartment was fantastic lovely view of the sea and close to all amenities. My little grandson loved it.
