Escarpa - the Madeira Hideaway

It was very quiet. Beautiful terrace, pool & jacuzzi. The view over the ocean was incredible.

The access road was very steep,narrow as cars were parked on one side of the road & busy with tourists going to see the waterfall. The turn into the property was a very sharp 90 degree turn so a bit of manoeuvring to get around & up the final bit.

L’emplacement et la vue c’est magnifique. La piscine avec jacuzzi top. Super c’était la petite kitchenette, bien équipé. Le petit déjeuner a été fait avec amour, pleins petits plats, des fruits frais et des bon produits. Petit plus, chaque jours il y a eu des bananes du plantage à côté.

Pour ce prix je m’attendais pas de trouver la moisissure dans la douche et le drain bouché, ainsi que la porte “réparé” avec du scotch blanc pour cacher la misère. Dommage était aussi qu’il manque la variété dans le petit déjeuner, c’était excellent, mais tous les jours la même chose.

Das Escarpa ist ein sehr kleines & individuelles Boutique Hotel das liebevoll geführt wird mit dem Ziel, dass jeder Gast sich absolut wohlfühlt.

Es gab nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat, aber man muss sich schon trauen eine enge steile Auffahrt zum Parkplatz zu fahren, die stark von Instagram Foto-Pilgern frequentiert ist (im Hotel selber bekommt man von dem Trubel aber überhaupt nichts von mit) und man muss gut Treppensteigen können, da das Hotel auf unterschiedlichen Ebenen liegt.

Die Unterkunft war einfach hervorragend! Die Lage mit traumhaftem Meerblick ist einmalig, besonders der Sonnenuntergang war atemberaubend. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, modern und komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und stets hilfsbereit. Auch das Frühstück war vielfältig und qualitativ hochwertig. Der Poolbereich mit Blick auf den Atlantik war definitiv ein Highlight.

Es gibt wirklich nichts zu beanstanden. Unser Aufenthalt war rundum perfekt.

La piscine est magnifique, la chambre très propre et le lit confortable, le personnel très courtois, le petit déjeuner est simple, mais tout est bon et que dire de la vue.

Beautiful and spacious, clean room, with a great view. Spacious bathroom. Good bar with choice of cold drinks, fridge and other amenities to spend time there comfortably. Very good breakfasts! About 10 minutes by car to other restaurants if you need variety.

Unfortunately, during our stay , there was a problem with hot water, on few occasions, related to the weather a month ago. the water pressure wasn't too high too. My suggestion for the breakfast tables: as they are very small: less glasses , lamps would make it easier to maneuver the plates and little bowls.
