"Exceptional"

10.0

Lovely place. The owners also run the local boozer, which does amazing food (a lot of better food than the local weatherspoons). There's also a Newsagents close by which does early and late hours for all your needs and right near an Asda. Would 100% recommend

The parking wasn't the greatest, especially as the place is close to an events venue, but we still found parking a short walk away.

"Lovely cosy cottage with real fire"

9.0

Cosy cottage with lovely log fire and comfy sofas and beds. Well stocked kitchen and really clean. Good showers. Everything you need including replacement logs. Serviced by local pub and friendly landlord.

Lack of dedicated parking but we did know that.

"Superb"

9.0

This is a house on three floors and much bigger than we needed, but it was within walking distance of our friend's house which is why we chose it. It has everything you might want and expect. The log fire was nice, but we could not get it to take. The owner came and lit it the first night - after that we failed. However the heating was very effecient and we were warm. The walk into town to the shops and cafes is easy and pleasant. Parking outside on the road was not a problem. All in all we are happy to recommend the house to other families.

The thing we lacked was an indoor airer for our washing. There is an outdoor washing line and pegs, but we were concerned about rain and chose not to do our washing and leave it ourside. I did message the ownerabout it, but he did not reply. He and his wife run one of the local pubs and no doubt he was very busy. It is a small issue only.

"Home from home"

8.0

This is a real find. We were surprised when we walked in. A real home from home. The owners have made sure you have all the little things that are important to staying here. Even a lovely log burner that made us stay in, of an evening, playing games with the kids. The rear garden is nice, we unfortunately didn't have the weather to enjoy it fully. The location is good and close to pubs, restaurants, and other amenities. It was a good stay for us.

Parking along Mantle Street is not easy. We were still able to load and unload and then park near the gardens, which are located behind the property, and only a few minutes walk and very cheap for the day.
