Rodeway Inn Kingsland - Lake LBJ

Solid value which worked well enough as a comfortable one night stop on my road trip. Minus one star though for overall cleanliness, which I would rate as acceptable, but not great: I found small stains on every single pillow; the tub was a bit discolored and showing its age; there was a hair on the shower curtain; and while most of the bedding was clean (which, along with a place being safe and quiet, is what matters most to me), one of the sheets was just straight up dirty with big black soot-like areas/stains. I have no idea how something that large/obvious could be missed, but I just removed that sheet since the rest of the coverings were fine/good. As such I still slept just fine, which, again, is what is most important to me.

We chose this place based on the good reviews….Let’s start off by the fact that the signage on the building does not match the name on Hotels.com. We weren’t sure if we were in the right place. After confirming, we checked in. The place is a bit run down. You can only drive around one side of the building, for some reason they have the other side blocked off. Outside needs some landscaping attention, lots of tall weeds growing and even a hose from a recent plumbing project. First initial impression was “this isn’t too bad” but then we realized it wasn’t very clean. Floors had been swept, but needed to be mopped, our socks were turning brown from the dirt (wiped a section with a damp washcloth to show, see pics) Shower took a long time for the water to get hot, and it would cut in and out from warm to cool. Shower curtains haven’t been washed in a while. Made the mistake of lifting the mattress when taking off the sheets when we left and found a ton of dead bugs under the bed. I’ve stayed in worse, but it’s been a long time….we won’t be back!

Don't have hot water and it flow so weak. Then can't take shower and wash the hair.

Nice, clean and quiet

The place is in a good location. The rooms were of good size and the bed were confortable.

The Inn is a small family run motel that is clean, comfortable and welcoming. I stay here every year when I come to visit my brother.
