"Wonderful accommodation and location."

10.0

The wonderful hospitality of the hosts, the comfortable beds, the fantastic location in a beautiful village with easy access to Innsbruck and surrounding villages via local public transport (free with Welcome Pass), the free gondola rides with the Welcome Pass (when staying 3 nights or more) and stunning walks from the top. A great place to stay!

Lovely hosts, good layout of apartment, well equipped kitchen, nice playground in the garden.

The refrigerator could have been cleaned after the previous guest, and some hooks for towels in the bathroom would be useful.

Ceiling heights were restrictive and had to sit down in the bath to have a shower.

"We would highly recommend Schusterhof. Our favourite stay in Austria!"

9.0

Beautiful village just outside of Innsbruck. Easy access to the city with the tram. Fantastic kind hosts who were so welcoming. The apartment is on the third floor of their house and it truly felt like you were welcomed into their home. We very much appreciated the sweets and treats as a welcome gift and the hosts even did our laundry (amazing!) Apartment was spotlessly clean and very cosy, delightfully warm. Kitchen very serviceable and well equipped.

As stated in other reviews, you cannot stand up in the shower (i.e you must shower sitting down or have a bath). To be honest, this really was not a big deal (it was much easier to deal with than we anticipated) - but it is just something to be aware of. There is also a slight cow smell as you are quite close to the cows. A number of other buildings in the village however smell the same, it’s just part of the village experience.

"A unique (but not comfy) experience in a house with cows, located in a picturesque village"

8.0

I did not had a lot of expectations, but the place turned out to be very unique. First of all the location is really cool, in a small village called Mutters with some beautiful overview on the mountains. The house looks really authentic and the fact that there are cows on the ground floor was really intriguing both for adults and kids. The host was really nice and there are two families living on the first two floors, which means that you will be basically going through their apartments while reaching your own on the top floor. Thumbs up for welcoming guests really close to their private life. The interior of the rooms is old, but there is definitely some charm in it. You can also find an expensive supermarket (MPREIS) and a nice ice cream bar called Kostbar a short drive away. If you have small kids, take a walk up the hill and you will find a small, but very picturesque playing ground surrounded by amazing mountain views. There is also a smaller playing ground on the backyard of the house along with a parking lot. The host gave us wine, but we had to leave it behind - it is a nice gesture though. The master bed was OK.

We had three kids with us and the apartment is really small, I'd recommend it for families with one child only. The ceiling has been mentioned a lot, and yes, it is really low and you might hit your head a few times, if you are around 180 cm or taller. The bathroom is super-uncomfortable, small, not very clean and fusty as there is no proper air-conditioning. The bathroom's green interior is just bizarre, gives some 80's vibes. In Mutters and in the house, you can see everywhere jesuses and crosses, which gives you more vibes of being a victim in a religious-themed horror movie. Cows are cute for a while, but they smell A LOT. As the house has a centralised air-conditioning system, the smell follows you everywhere, the kitchen smells cows, the bathroom. The smell is really pungent, because it comes out of cow feces. The hosts are probably used to it, but if you are sensitive to smells, this is not a place for you. I wish we got a chance to try the milk they produce, but were never offered one. The bakery nearby was a disappontment. The kitchen is also rather small for a bigger family and hand washing dishes is not cool. There is a small window on the roof, but cows smell gets really through it. Not a super-quiet apartment either, as there is a car road right next to it with some traffic at the night as well and the noise isolation is minimal even if you do not open any doors or windows.
