Sylvis Hostel Chiangmai

very nice rooms with big, comfortable beds. good location as well for socialising with the hostel bar that stays open longer than most

There was a rep at the time who got borderline aggressive with me during my stay. it was a minor misunderstanding blown out of proportion due to his intoxication but it made me feel very uncomfortable. later on in the night he did the same thing to a random guy outside 7-eleven which came close to causing a physical altercation. I believe he is no longer there, I received an apology from him l, and all of the staff were very lovely and helpful! Just something to be aware of as from the sounds of it, that wasn’t a one-off and that behaviour was going unchecked. I was staying another night in Chiang Mai but opted to move hostels because of this.

De kamer was erg mooi en had een eigen badkamer. Deze was ook erg schoon. Het personeel was vriendelijk en de locatie was super!

In potentie een hele gezellige plek, maar toen wij hier verbleven in het laagseizoen was het zeer uitgestorven.

Location was great. The vibes are comfy. There was a cat that won my heart. Very friendly but did try to enter our form room several times. I didnt mind but something to take note of if you're allergic or afraid of cats! Bed was so comfortable I overslept for my early morning pick-up. Bathroom is acceptable, there are hair dryers.

It gets really dark at night!

Top personeel! Ze helpen je goed met het organiseren van activiteiten en excursies. Ze denken graag met je mee. Er hangt een fijne sfeer.

Muziek dreunde hard door het gebouw. Je kon echt niet eerder gaan slapen dan 00:00

Locatie is goed en dichtbij oude stad. Heel vriendelijk personeel en kamer was erg schoon.

Matrassen zijn veel te dun en daardoor is het bed te hard. Best luidruchtige bar/hostel er tegenover.

I loved my time at Sylvis. It definitely is a party hostel but its a friendly one too. Sylvis is partnered with other hostels in the area and make each night one to remember - they even have their own nightclub! The staff are lovely and organise daily trips. If you want to go to a waterfall in the rainforest or an elephant sanctuary, they have it all. The rooms were clean and a good size. They will also accomdate you if you are travelling with friends or in a group. Our fellow travellers were the friendliest we'd met on our entire trip of Thailand (and mostly Dutch). No complaints!
