Room was OK for a night stay before Bromo

Bathroom was dirty and the blankets were dirty

the toilets were very old and room smelled like mold.

This review of the hotel is very difficult. I will do it to be honest and to trigger for improvement only. I will not fake. 1st Question to the owner is to think over: 'What is the core group of guests I want to attract?' Make that very clear in your presentation on Booking.com more clear. My first impression was a 1 score because of the overall impression at arrival! I waited 3 hours in front of the closed house till the check-in opened. My fault, I took the night-train and arrived early check in is at 14:00 that was clear to me. While waiting, I could not sit outside because of the flies and dead animals on the terras. Looking inside gave me not an better impression. This was the start, I will attach some picture's they might say more what I say in words. Then the Elen came, a lovely sweet woman very very helpful and happy but she can only speek Bahasa Indonesian language. That explains the out-of-the-blue-English messages over the Booking.com ap. which were not to the point and oft inconsistent. They did and do what they could do: but more was not possible. The place is on top of an active volcano and no investments in the house were done, worse the bathroom was quite old and used but still could be cleaned. The last issue was sad, it could all be worn-out, but then it can still be cleaned if you rent it out. If you are a hotel give as well a towel, they have no towels at all! Soap was available (I suppose, by looking at dirty old containers free to use or left from other guest?) Broken tooth brushes, I would throw away do not leave them to share with others. The smell in the bathroom toilet and shower was covered with chemical Toilet balls dropped in the sink. This impression was all over, but the bedroom had an exceptional good bed. There was a cover over the matras and 2 blankets but no sheets to cover yourself and between the blankets were available. I hope the blankets were cleaned. The kitchen looked the same and gave the same impression.

Worth the money

They allowed us a late check-in and the lady greeting us was very welcoming and even made us a portion of noodles without paying it.

The official owner with whom we had spoken on booking.com never showed up and the staff didn’t speak a word of English. We were told from the owner we would have found someone to arrange a tour to Mount Bromo at the property but there was no one and we had to do by ourself.

Literally nothing

First os far from the Village and kind of hidden, both our driver and Google maps had trouble to locate it. We calles the number provided by booking and the person answering was in Bali, so we ended up waiting 30 minutes till someone got there. Once we got in, the smell was powerfully stinking and everything was filthy. The room itself was half clean, meaning it was clean at first look but then we had bugs and pieces of plastic rolling from below the bed. It was just one night and we couldn't wait to get out of there.
