"Great spot to spend the night before hiking bromo area! Clean & a warm shower… what more can you ask for?"

Clean, warm shower & two blankets given so we were plenty warm! Great place to stay if you are looking to hike Mt. Bromo area without a tour (although the house is ~30 min uphill walk to the main part of town) Menu’s are provided from local restaurants and they will deliver to the Homestay!

Nothing!

The room was very cold, as cold inside as outside! (7 degrees C outside…). There was no sheet, only bottom sheet, with two blankets (were they clean? I don’t know). It is a shared bathroom (hidden in the booking list): the sink was disgusting, and thankfully the floors were dark so that we could not see if it was dirty as well! I really don’t recommend to go there. Furthermore, Elen doesn’t speak English so the communication is a bit difficult!

"Clean and tidy"

Elen HS was what you expect for the price. The bed was comfy and warm and the place was clean and tidy. Owners were lovely. Accommodation was close to the park entrance which was a big plus!

We didn't realize from the description that it was shared bathrooms. But there were 2 so it wasn't so bad. Not sure what it would be like with a full house though.

It was close to Bromo

We didn’t realise it was so far away from everything we didn’t take food but the other people who were there were Chinese snd Indonesian and they brought own food snd used the kitchen. We were the only westerners which is fine but didn’t realise that it was a Mandy to wash in and very basic no plugs in our room and only one blanket and it was really cold. The beds were comfortable and the owners were nice but didn’t realise it was so basic and a bit grubby in the bathroom. The other travellers were really messy and left all there used food in the communal areas. Not the owners fault as long as you go into this realising all of this you will be fine.
