River House at Odette's

Overall, wonderful stay. Beautiful location, nice room and great food at the restaurant! Would come back. They really need to figure out the valet situation - it is currently a disaster. At peak hours it is borderline unsafe - longs line of cars and vehicles being left unattended. The process of dropping off and picking up our car proved time consuming and stressful. Defeats the purpose of providing valet service.

Our visit started well with Deone at the front desk - she’s a delight - as is Sarah, the bartender/server on The Roof. The staff is lovely but management needs a serious overhaul e.g. A complimentary fruit/cheese tray waited in our room upon arrival, but no napkins, cutlery, plates - and no opener for the bottled water. Plastic glass in bathroom had lip marks on it; a half empty bottled water rolled out from behind the drapes in the bedroom. In the electronically controlled room, I accidentally turned on the fireplace while looking for a light switch - the front desk said “Oh, yeah, it’s not labelled.” The meals were delicious but, again, more management issues.: The tables along the sliding windows in Odette’s had lots of ants. The staff just shrugged their shoulders and said, “that’s because we’re next to a river.” When we asked for some bread with dinner on The Roof we were told they were out of bread, yet that same dinner menu offered a burger on a brioche roll and early the next morning, we were offered several varieties of bread for toast - none of this made any sense. Was also surprised that the wifi was unsecured (no password needed - too easy to hack into for my taste). Waiting for the elevator, couldn’t help but notice the filthy hall windows. Valet staff performance is spotty: I was texted an updated ticket number after a day away, but the car keys couldn’t be found under that number - they hadn’t removed the original ticket. There is a free shuttle service to town (Mandatory valet parking is $20/day) but we were dropped off at the wrong restaurant - we had to walk 2 sweaty blocks. It wasn’t ’til the day we were leaving that we discovered why there were no glass doors on the shower and no closets/hangers in the room (only pegs in the wall): We’d been given an ADA compliant room - nobody told us. Note: Barn door on bathroom is neither soundproof nor odor proof (and no exhaust fan in bathroom). For over $500/night, these issues are totally unacceptable.

Loved this hotel. They really paid attention to the details and amazing location to shops and restaurants.

Great staff. Luxurious.

This is a unique very well maintained property with a very cool vibe. The Roof was a great place to relax after dinner with a great view of the river. Highly recommend this property.
