Riverside Rothbury Swift S Pod

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Rothbury. We asked about what we could do locally, there wasn’t a great deal, except we did enjoy a visit to Cragside which was 5 minutes down the road. It’s a good location for visiting other areas in Northumberland- more like a base to go out and explore. Rothbury itself is small, but pleasant. We ate at the Turks Head and that was lovely. The pod was as expected- compact but had what we needed. The shower was powerful, there was a small kitchenette and just about enough room for a family of 4. The only downside to the pod was the fact our toddler couldn’t really sleep on the too bunk of the bed and the springs in the main bed mattress made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Had a lovely stay in Rothbury, the pod was clean and comfortable, but would be cramped with 4 people (even if it was 2 children). The staff were friendly and helpful. Think it was a bit pricey at £102 per night.

Really enjoyed our 2 night midweek break, the site itself was lovely and quiet. Location was perfect and a 15 min walk into Rothbury; especially when you take the stepping stones across the river! The pod itself is ingenious, very clever indeed and can not fault its design and comfort

Absolutely excellent stay. The Riverside Rothbury team were friendly, polite and offered great service. The pod we stayed in had everything and more that we expected. The shower was really good, powerful and hot. Would definitely recommend for those looking for a weekend for two or two plus kids.

Nice stay for a couple of nights. Would be better to get rid of the bunk beds and fit a small kitchen/cooker in the space. Can’t see how 4 people could be comfy in their tiny space. Feel if I said anything more it would be nit picking. Would stay again but only one night on route to somewhere.

Had a really good time, pod was just right for 2 people, in an ideal quiet location. Staff (pam) very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and camp site.

Lovely staycation. Rothbury is lovely. We stayed in Pod 1. Minor annoyance with the small mosquito like flies at night that would enter the pod, other half was bitten quite a bit, but due to the lovely weather and the trees, this couldn’t be helped. The trees also caused quite a lot of bird poo on the decking area which wasn’t ideal with a 14month old. Overall lovely stay and would recommend to family and friends for a mini staycation.

This is a great base to explore from with views of Cragside. Pam saved the day by providing all the information we needed for a fantastic stay.

Very compact pod: extremely clean and well thought out. Slight problem with fridge requiring defrosting-but otherwise everything you could need for a self catering stay.
