The Darling

Central location, older building totally renovated. Clean comfortable room totally quiet A/C, excellent restaurant and super staff.

we had a good stay at The Darling, right in downtown Visalia and walkable to some nice bars and coffee shops. stopped here for a night on our way to Sequoia (about a 45 min drive away) and it was super convenient. Big bathroom, comfy beds, an awesome shower that pours down on you like a waterfall and you can park on the street or in the gated lot (extra fee). Only heads up: ask for a room not on the first floor, since it's basically a basement (?). For a longer stay I'd definitely want a higher floor, but for one night on a road trip we didn't mind at all

The decor and rooms were great! And the staff were all so friendly and helpful.

Beautiful building. Great shower. Room decor. Snacks. Rooftop bar and restaurant. Comfortable bed. Walk to coffee, bakery, restaurants and shops downtown.

Wish happy hour went until 5.

Pretty decent hotel on the way to Yosemite/Sequoia. Art deco style, good restaurant at rooftop. Good staff/service.

Google maps said it is 5 star hotel but it is for sure not (however it is still good boutique hotel). Walls a bit thin, I heard noises from next-door room.

Three was a banging nose the whole time. We just used ear plugs.

A fantastic historical vibe, updated so that you have all the modern things as well.

The only negative was being able to get the curtains closed enough so that the room was a really dark. I even travel with the binder clips so I can clip the curtains and I couldn’t quite get them. You might want to consider roller shades for those taller windows. We ate two meals there and both times we could not sit outside even though they were probably 10 or 15 tables available. Luckily, we loved the bar, but it would’ve been nice to sit outside.
