Secluded location, no traffic noise etc. The owl didn't keep us awake long... Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast also good. Spacious room, beams gave character. Good shower, temperature constant and it's not softened water.

No cereal or fruit with the breakfast. Door to the hotel rooms is outside and round the back from the pub, so I think you'd get wet if it was raining.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hidden gem! The staff were so friendly and welcoming both on arrival and at breakfast. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, and had everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was so comfy! The blinds in the room were great too as they didn't allow any light in - would be perfect for light summer mornings. The breakfast was great and very fresh, with excellent service. I thought the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of food. Would love to try their lunch/dinner menus next time! I loved how dog friendly they were. There are dog treats and water bowls in the pub itself and they also have the option to book a doggy package for the room too. There are some lovely walks nearby, with a large field literally behind the pub. So glad we know of this place now as it'll be a perfect base for us when visiting family in future.

The wall between the bathroom and bedroom was only door height. So there was no real privacy. The wall should have been ceiling height. To give full privacy

Good sized room, with very comfortable bed. We were out for supper but the menu looked good and interesting so I would imagine this would be a good place to eat. Breakfast was really good with a good choice. The Eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection according to my companion. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One 'niggle' and one criticism. On arrival we asked for a taxi to be booked to take us onto our evening venue, which the staff member said could be arranged. Something made me double check about an hour or so later and our request had been forgotten. This could have happened anywhere, of course, and hence, a 'niggle'. What marked the property down was the 'free' wifi. Whilst one has to accept that many hotels etc use 'captive wifi', the request here for a postal address and date of birth went too far, for me, in terms of data collection; especially with no clear notice of how the data would be processed.
