Seafield House - Donnini Apartments

The whole bungalow is very well presented. Neat and tidy, .very welcoming.

The beds were very uncomfortable, very hard, and an oven tray wasn't cleaned from the last tenant?. Had lots of oil all over it .

Well maintained, fully equipped house near the beach

No dishwasher. Floorboard missing in back bedroom which was quite hazardous as your foot kept catching on it

Spacious comfortable house in a great location, minutes walk to beach in one direction and a minutes walk to park, woods and golf course in the other direction. Lovely decor with extra touches, plenty of cushions and throws for snuggling up on the sofa. Comfortable beds and very efficient heating. Incredibly helpful staff, really good communication and provided extra glasses, crockery and cutlery for us to host Christmas dinner.

Beautifully appointed, beds and bedding are ‘hotel quality’. Fully fenced garden.

Few issues with a door that wouldn’t close and slammed all night in the wind keeping us awake. There was also a leak but we were there during storm Amy. Reported to the management team who were responsive and helpful. Pots and pans are old (ikea?) and poor quality like you’d find in student digs and didn’t match the quality of the furniture, fixtures & fittings of the property and made cooking a bit of a chore as I’m used to much better 👩🏼‍🍳

Accommodation and location was excellent

We would have benefited from simple instructions on how to operate the heating system which was sometimes too hot. A note to say if the system was/not on timer.

Could not have had a better location, especially with the dog and the beach. House was well presented and most importantly clean. Kitchen Dinner made the most of the sun so we spent most of our time there.

Not really a negative but something to consider. The ensuite bathrooms shower needs repairing. the shower head holder was broken so difficult to keep it in position. the toilet was square which is unusual and had we been 6ft or more we would have found it exceedingly difficult to use as the basin was very close to our knees. Having the dog was great but he did bring a lot of sand with him from the beach. There was a hose outside the back but we had to carry him through the house to access. However we then discovered that there was no connections for the hose to the outside tap. Could we suggest that you invest in having a tap at the fron of the house to allow dogs to be washed off before entering the house.

There was a shop across the road.

On entering the property, the first thing that hit us was a strong smell of dog. We were late getting to the property because of the distance we had travelled, so we bought food to eat straight away. There were no cleaning facilities to wipe the surface of the kitchen worktops or table, and there was no soap in the toilets to wash our hands. There was one small bottle of shower gel in one bathroom (between three of us). On phoning the property management company, they said that someone would bring cleaning supplies around. What they did was posted through the letterbox a small bag containing a few small shower gels and two small bars of soap. There was nothing to clean the surfaces with. We then realised there was a tea towel wrapped in paper. It was a small, pathetic kit with a small tube of washing-up liquid and a small sponge. The tea towel was useless, and when we tried to wipe the plates, fluff from the tea towel came off onto the plates. We noticed that they do not wash these tea towels but throw them away; we saw the last people to stay in the property had their tea towel in the bin outside. The front bedroom had a big iron burn in the carpet, and the back bedroom had a big dent in the floor as you enter the room, where the floorboards have given way. Also, the blinds in the back bedroom and some of the blinds in the living room were broken due to the string being missing or damaged. In the main shower room, we had to clean the rain shower as the holes were blocked with mildew. None of the bathrooms had toilet cleaning supplies, only a brush. But the most disappointing thing is that this property is on the main road. This road is long and straight and leads to a car park on the beachfront. This car park attracts young drivers with cars with big exhausts, and they race up and down the street. My room and my mother's room were at the front, and these cars would be up and down the street until gone midnight.
