Great place in a beautiful village… friendly staff. 5 minute walk to the train station.

The bar is pretty much the front desk… So when it’s closed, it’s not as convenient to ask questions. There is however a number to call, if you need anything.

Location is ideal for the town centre. Place itself is extremely attractive in it's vintage features and the bar is very comfortable with a good range of drinks.

Our only minor problem was that the bed was too small for us.

I liked how comfortable and cozy my room was and the breakfast staff were lovely especially the first morning.

The macerator in the bathroom made an awful sound when flushing the toilet and when I ordered the fruit bowl for breakfast I was expecting freshly prepared fruit but got tinned fruit cubes that were very sour and sweet. I was very disappointed.

The hotel was very pleasant and exceptionally clean, the staff were polite and very courteous. The rooms are very well decorated and maintained, the bed linen was clean and crisp.

Maybe a small TV in the room, as a family room sometimes children need a small distraction (away from an i-phone / i-pad). We didn't have any with us, but usually in the morning we like to watch the news. The family room should have an awareness of the steepness of the stairs going up to the bathroom, the treads are very short.

What a gem! If you are looking for a charming and affordable place to stay in the London area, look no further. Located in adorable Godalming and a quick 45-min train ride into the heart of London, the Rose and Crown was perfect for our family of 4. We stayed in the Juliet room, which has two separate sleeping areas: a very comfortable queen bedroom with en-suite, and a secluded little Hobbit room for kids (the beds are small, so it’s not ideal for taller teenagers). The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the gal serving breakfast twice prepared us a to-go pastry box for us to eat on the train as we raced out the door in the morning. On this vacation, we stayed in 5 different inns across England, and Rose and Crown was our favorite.

Lovely old pub, very nicely refurbished. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very nice. Pleasant breakfast. Would definitely recommend.😊
