"Great hotel with fab staff! Great for allergies."

10.0

Visited this hotel back in August - at the height of the season, and i would 100% reccommend it. There are a few niggly things that could be improved, but overall a lovely place. Il start with allergies, as we booked this hotel based on the reviews of others of food allergy sufferers. My daughter and i both have nut allergy. I also have soya allergy. I read lots about the wait staff incl Jessie although i didnt have much dealings with her. Jessie was mainly at breakfast. Her sister Cindy, did lunch and dinner and she was just simply the best! Another huge thanks of apprecaition is Lefteris. I think he might be the dining room manager. Cindy and Lefteris made this holiday for us. They were INCREDIBLE!!!! Nothing was ever to much grief. We emailed the hotel before arrival and filled in some forms on our first day (il try and add them to this review). You also can fill in a daily request of what you would like to eat and hand in every evening for the nxt day (or you can do the week in advance). You can pick several things off the menu - so you could request 2 mains at the same time or 2 starters etc and have your own mini buffet with a selection. You can also add notes such as; please add chips etc... There wasnt any dessert options we could have and when i asked Cindi about this, she went to the kitchen and came back with a cake selection of marble cake, carrot cake and vanilla cake which we was over the moon with. If my daughter wanted ice cream either from the main restaurant or the ice cream parlour, they would open a brand new fresh tub for her every single time and take some out for her with a fresh scoop. Honestly, i cant fault the place. Going away with allergies is so sooo hard and stressful but this place was brilliant. The servers etc didnt have great English but Cindy and Lefteris was always around. The allergy meals are cooked in a separate part of the kitchen. Its all very well origanised. When you arrive at teh dining hall, you let them know you have an allergy meal and they bring it out after about 10-15 mins, so its all cooked fresh (il try and upload the menu choices). Also, all of the food in the restaurant has allergen labels. For the rest of the hotel, its lovely, clean and big. The rooms are nice. We had a premium family room which was nice and spacious with teh room divider. The bathroom is odd though (which others have mentioned) There is a huge window between the bedroom and bathroom which has a blind. Annoyingly the blind is controlled from the bedroom side so if you have annoying kids or an annoying husband, youre going to be exposed when you are in the shower haha!! There is also no bathroom door lock as the door is just a big swinging glass door. But none of this was an issue for us. Entertainment.. this is the only negative. There is none! There was bingo advertised one night and said it was starting at 8:30pm. We was still waiting at 9:30 and its cost i think 5 euro for one ticket and it was over within about 3 minutes!! And that was it. There is a little mini kids disco but we didnt have little kids so didnt go to this. There was a singer one night but was only on for about an hour. No shows, nothing interactive of an evening which is a major let down considering they have a stage and lots of space. We did the pool 'foam' party one night but that was such a waste of time.... They actually had a lovely set up with a bbq and donuts etc, but the foam cannon (if you can call it a cannon' was on the grass about 50 ft away from the pool and only sprayed like specks of snow. Not the foam party i imagined. It is heaving though and the music is going and everyone (the kids mainly) are splashing like crazy and there are balloons etc. It was alright but i was just expecting loads of foam and there was none. Tip - theres a tv advert screen outside the main restaurant that says whats going on as alot of people didnt know. The hotel 'beach'... Oh dear..... No, just no! Its awful! Worse than awful. Shingley, cut your feet, uncomfortable BUT Tsambika beach is only a 10 min bus journey away and its BEAUTIFUL!!! Huge, lovely sand, water sports, restaurants etc. Loved it here!!! Travelling. I dont do buses back in the UK and never do them on holiday either but there was 6 of us and cabs were mega expensive. The buses are brilliant and (most of the time) on time! They cost a couple of euro and stop right outside the hotel. They have the bus timetable at reception. We go the bus to Tasambika beach, Lindos and Rhodes town twice. Tip if youre going to Rhodes town (old or new) you have to prebuy your ticket from the ticket office at the bus stop before you get on to return. And get there early as the queues are awful!! All the other journeys, you can pay on the bus. The buses are air conditioned comfy coaches. Pools - great pools. Clean and fun. The swim park is good too. We was there in August 1st - 8th, and it wasnt busy at all. The lifeguards are strict in there and you have to be the right height to go on slides etc, but great to relax in with plenty of places to sit. Just bring your drink as the drinks there arent free as im sure the waterpark is shared with the hotel next door - but the free drinks are literally about 90 second walk away. Departure. We had a night flight but had to vacate our room quite early. Your luggage goes in hold room. You can book a 30 min slot in a room to shower and get ready after a day at the pool/out etc. These go quite fast, so book early. There is a really handy shop in the hotel (in the basement) which sells loads of random things from biscuits to flippers, to cigarettes to fridge magnets and tshirts and water inflatables and sweets and charger leads and power banks etc. Its not that cheap but its very handy. I would defo return here! I think ive covered the main things.... There is a facebook group for this hotel with lots of other questions, photos and advice too.

"October half term - good family hotel with some potential improvements"

8.0

Stayed with family for October half term. Lovely grounds well maintained. Quality of drinks generally good. Food and atmosphere of a la cartes great and because hotel was not full got chance to experience all of then for free. Just ask guest relations. The Lagoon Asian was our favourite and beautiful surroundings. Main buffet restaurant service and food could be a little better for 5* quality. For example patchy table service for drinks, no cutlery on tables. Lunchtime snack bar great quality. Pools cold although to be expected in October. Infinity pool bar overlooking sea beautiful although could maximise use of that ny having some stools or tables overlooking sea front. Entertainment ok, organised football and activities. Laundry room does not exist now. Rooms nice quality although family rooms with sliding door, doors do not fully close and partition not to ceiling, bathrooms lack privacy as glass toilet door and no closing bathroom door. Overall decent and had a enjoyable week.

"Exceptional Stay Elevated by Outstanding Bartender Nikos!"

8.0

A truly beautiful hotel with spotless rooms, excellent pools, and a fantastic location near the beach. The staff were very courteous, especially Nikos at the main bar, who crafted some of the best cocktails we’ve ever tasted—always served with a warm smile. We highly recommend visiting outside the peak season, when it’s pleasantly uncrowded. If you would have any question Fotini by the public relations desk is always ready to help out.

"Not the experience you would expect"

4.0

The positives: The room was good, and the housekeeping staff were lovely. The lady working at the gelato station was so kind. The water park was great, and the Italian restaurant was excellent. The negatives: The hotel itself really needs an upgrade. The restaurant chairs look like they haven’t been changed since the 90s. Pool towels were old, full of permanent marks, and even had holes. Reception staff were rude and arrogant. The worst part, however, was the food in the main restaurant, the quality was poor, with very few fresh options. For ex. There was no a custom stations which you’d expect in a 4-5 star hotel. I twice asked a supervisor or manager if it was possible to get a vegetarian omelet, and was told no both times. Staff in both the restaurant and pool bar were constantly on their phones. Another issue was the kids’ activities nobody seemed to know anything about them. When we asked the TUI staff, they didn’t know, and reception had no idea either. You would expect staff to at least try to help or find out, but that wasn’t the case.

"Great staff. Good 3 star hotel. Very noisy. Food average."

6.0

The staff at Atlantica Aegean Blue are without doubt the highlight of this hotel — friendly, professional, and genuinely service-minded. The pool area is well-kept and clean, and the atmosphere around it is pleasant and relaxed. Rooms are comfortable, and drinks in the minibar are refilled regularly, though small items may occasionally be missed. Unfortunately, several aspects of the stay fall short of expectations. The food is below average — plenty of choice but limited freshness and very repetitive. For a property marketed as five stars, the overall quality feels much closer to three. Guests in rooms facing inland should also be aware of serious environmental and noise issues. The area in front of the hotel functions almost like a city bus stop, with coaches arriving and idling for long periods, filling the air with diesel fumes. In the evenings, shouting from the nearby football field continues until almost midnight, and loud outdoor music from the adjacent hotel further disrupts the evenings. A few practical changes could make a real difference — asking drivers to switch off engines while waiting and turning off the football field lights around 10 p.m. In summary, Atlantica Aegean Blue has wonderful staff and a pleasant pool area, but it is not a five-star resort. Realistically, it delivers a solid three-star experience with room for significant improvement in food quality, noise management, and environmental care.

"Plenty good plenty bad. A fair review"

8.0

Lots we really liked and some things we really didn't. Things we liked 1. Family room is a decent size and modest price upgrade. 2. The hotel and grounds are really nice 3. The water park is brilliant with some great slides. You don't get all Inc there but this prob helps with flow of people and a good thing on balance 4. The pool areas are nice and plenty beds in October. 5. The kids team are fantastic. Very young and energetic. The best mini disco we have been to and it's something we look for. 6. The drinks were good Inc the cocktails on all inc. very tasty and plenty choice. 7. The gelato was brilliant for the kids 8. The snack bar at the pool was good for kids. 9. Waiters at buffet very quick and good to serve a drink Things we didn't like 1. The food at buffet is very very poor. Without doubt the worst 4* we have had. Examples. Margarine croissant were rotten. Never any smoked salmon which is rare for 4*. Never any red meat on grill. Nearly always cheap pork mainly pork belly rubbish. I think I only even seen red meat twice in a week in the buffed trays. The chicken was even so cheap and poor. The squidgy frozen and maltodextrin filled stuff. Really bad. The chefs on the grill were highly inexperienced. Lashing on oil and overcooking to a tragic level. You can't get a proper omelette made. Tray bakes of this odd stuff that's not made to order. Never seen that low a standard in 4* 2. No irons on the rooms and when I called for one, told they do not provide irons to the rooms. Never heard the likes. 3. I like to get up early for a coffee and a workout. Nothing is available till 7.30am 4. Coffee is poor everywhere and nobody knows what a flat white is. These days a decent coffee is expected at a 4 star I think. 5. Small play park but that's it. Id have thought a wee mini golf and decent arcades maybe for such a family place with lots of kids whom it's targeted at 6. Beach is lovely but no use for a 2 yo. Small stone shingle. Adults really liked but not younglings Overall it was good value for money since the facilities for kids are 4+ star with the waterpark, despite the food being 3* and you can get a good drink..id say worth a visit if you get a good deal, can tolerate the food and have kids..

"The experience was 5*, but the hotel isn't quite that - full review."

10.0

I'll start with the little things that I feel don't make this a 5* Firstly the alcohol they serve is awful and weak. A true 5* resort will serve a decent selection and the bigger named brands. We ended up buying in. I know this won't matter to some people. There was an issue at reception on arrival at 10pm, where they didn't think I'd booked a family swim up room. I had, and had the booking so they had to find me one. The reception staff were quite abrupt. You get fresh bathroom towels everyday and water in the room fridge. Your beds are also made every day. No actual cleaning takes place. So where 5 of us had left drink rings all over the surfaces, nothing was ever wiped down so I did it. I left dirty room glasses, they were cleaned with a wipe and put back, not replaced with clean ones. Again, a 5* resort this would be far better. Moving on to the amazing bits! The hotel grounds and buildings are immaculate, you can't fault them and they work hard to keep it this way every day. The rooms are decorated beautifully and robes and slippers are provided. A lot of the rooms will be in shade from lunch time, so we found having a swim up pointless for this reason. The food selection in the restaurant and snack bar is brilliant and it's really good food too. Lot's for everyone including my veggie daughter. Really the best all inclusive food we've ever had. We also ate at the Asian fusion restaurant. Food was gorgeous, however no drinks are included so if you order alcohol you have to pay cash for it. The location is great for getting about, there's a bus stop right outside and we went to Rhodes old town for the day for 8 euros each (return). The town of Kolympia is a 15 min walk away, and it's worth a look. Some nice shops and Tavernas. The beach isn't large but it is lovely, the sea is beautiful and clear. The water park is small but ideal. Something for everyone, great for little ones and my three teens were happy to spend an hour there on more than one day. The pools are all great however the jacuzzi is cold water. The bar and restaurant staff were great. I want to say particularly Maria and Michel on the pool bar. Both were so welcoming and funny, and really made us feel they couldn't do more for us. Thank you to both of them.
