"Fabulous holiday "

10.0

Family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children aged 16,15,12, and 11, and we have had the most amazing holiday. Loved every minute. The hotel is beautiful and is very well kept. Very clean and maintained. We had two rooms and these were cleaned daily. Swimming pools were great and there were plenty of sunloungers. Our favourite was the infinity pool, and we went here most days. It is not adult only, but is a quieter, more relaxed vibe with a swim up bar - this is managed by the life guard who was fab. The Swim up bar is brilliant, and all the staff were so friendly, especially Theodoris, Thomas and the lovely lady ( I don't know her name), and they work so hard. I used to get to the pool for 8am and easily got sunloungers. The lady Petuola in the ice cream bar was just amazing! So bubbly and friendly with everyone and just gorgeous with the children. A real asset to the hotel! Ice cream is proper ice cream, e.g, bueno, Nutella, oreo, etc, and is lovely! We didn't really eat breakfast, but found the snack bar to be perfect for what we all needed and wanted of a lunchtime with a good variety, and it was really nice. We visited the Greek and the Italian restaurant and they were both really good. The main restaurant was good but could do with a bit more variety for children. We loved the staff on the poolside bar of an evening - Michalis and Maro in particular were amazing and made our holiday very special! The only downside we had was the evening entertainment. It wasn't the best and although we understand it's a family hotel and noise etc, the entertainment was completely finished by 10.15pm and although the bars stay open until 12pm it was completely lifeless. We enjoyed going to Eacalyptus Street of an evening and had several meals out. Would recommend carousel and olio, i think it was called and,Oasis cocktail bar. Good range of bars, restaurants, and shops but not too busy and very family orientated. And would also recommend Michael's Greek restaurant that is right by the hotel. Waterpark is great and well managed by the lifeguards. The games room for the kids was small and basic and so so hot - made it unbearable to play pool, even of an evening. We found all staff to be very friendly and really enjoyed our stay here. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back. I have seen on other recent reviews about people complaining about the cups around the infinity pool. We did notice this, however this is a reflection on the guests not the staff. Put your cup in the bin or take your cup to the bar before you leave the pool. Its basic manners.

"Sold as a 5-Star but it’s not. Here’s why…"

6.0

I would not consider this hotel anywhere near a 5-star resort. Would’ve said a solid 4-star, but a few issues make it 3-star+. Location - 3* Kolympia is effectively 3 or 4 hotels in a bay. There’s little else around that area so nowhere to go for a walk. Beach - 3* Hotel doesn’t have a beach, just a rocky access to the sea (sea is lovely). Either side of the hotel are stretches of beach, but they are very stoney and not great to walk on. Drinks, sunbeds etc. all charged as they’re public, not part of Atlantica. Hotel - 4* Nice enough, looks good and lovely grounds. Well equipped, clean and tidy. Rooms - 3* Decent size even with three in, well equipped and cleaned daily. However, ongoing issues with air-con working (had to change rooms two nights as there wasn’t any), hairdryer kept tripping as did lights occasionally. Restaurants - 4* Main buffet dining was designed for volume rather than quality. Reasonable choices but no dining experience - very functional. A La Carte Dining - 3* Nice environments, particularly the Italian, and food was OK even if the menus are very (very) limited in the 2 of 3 we were able to try - Italian and Asian. Didn’t try Greek as only one per week is allowed, which surprised me. Drinks - 3* Again, designed for volume not quality. Drinks in the main buffet restaurant were particularly poor. Two main outdoor bars including swim-up, plus two indoor including snack bar. Pools - 2* Two or three good sized family and children’s pools but my issue was with the swim-up infinity pool. It is meant to be a quieter, more relaxed area, but nobody really manages it. As such it’s chaotic at times with empty or part-full drinks strewn everywhere. Not at all relaxing, meaning there’s nowhere else to go to relax except the room. Really disappointing. Water Park - 5* To have this facility accessible on site was fantastic. Well we quipped, clean, safe and great fun. Kids loved it. Only issue was drink and snack bar in the water park is all extra charge. Spa - 1* Looked lovely and booked a couples package. Sadly nothing had been turned on, so after 45 minutes of a cold sauna, steam room, we called it a day, cancelled our booking and asked for a refund (which they gave us). Just a rubbish experience due to a lack of appropriate checks. Staff - 4* There were some issues during our stay and after discussing them the staff were generally helpful in trying to resolve. Overall - 3.5* Great holiday but felt the need to get away (Rhodes Okd Town, Lindos, watersports etc. several time) to make it. This is a nice hotel but not 5* and not of the standard portrayedy

"Super hotel, super staff great for families."

10.0

Super family hotel booked through TUI. 4 of us , 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 12. Pools - plenty of sunbeds available across both pools even at 10am which is a novelty for me. Infinity pool is quieter no games or floating beds etc allowed, swim up bar which is a great and next to pebbly beach. Other pool which is bigger is set for kids and younger children. Music playing, close to lunchtime food place. Food - great variety on main buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s a bit crazy with kids etc but it is a family hotel and maybe look to the Atlantica imperial if an adult only. Themes every night and you have three a la carte restaurants. These can only be booked out three days in advance and coupled with only one a la carte per week means you are more likely to be able to get to the restaurant you want. Only suggestion is that your able to visit two or three per week as buffet can be too monotonous towards end of holiday. Rooms - modern, clean and spacious. Mini bar restocked most days and free safe. Staff- super, staff amazing at swim Up bar as well as the cocktail makers at bar near reception. Also giving water to us before we left home on coach was a nice touch. Overall - highly recommend for a family

"A great holiday"

8.0

Our first visit to this hotel & to Rhodes & we were not disappointed! Lovely clean hotel with great facilities. We had a swim up room but as we could always get sunbeds around the main pool would probably not bother with having a swim up room again. The Waterpark was a great hit with my 11 & 13 year olds. Great snack bar & ice cream bar. We ate in the a la carte Taverna & Italian restaurants on 3 evenings, both of which were great. The main restaurant was good at breakfast & lunchtimes, we found evenings a little noisy & hot! There’s a very good shop at the hotel with very helpful friendly staff. Reception staff were also very good especially when one of my children picked up a small injury. This hotel is in a great location - very easy access to the beach where we snorkelled & did watersports at Mike’s Watersports. A beautiful view across the sea too. The Pool Party was very good - it wasn’t particularly well advertised & it was by chance that I saw it was on. Possible areas for improvement in my opinion - bingo at evening entertainment cost us 10 euros per card & the prizes were T-shirts / discounts in the hotel spa which I felt was very overpriced for this activity. A football tournament was held which cost an additional 20 euros per child which again I feel is too expensive given that holidays here are not cheap….. It would be great to have air conditioning in the Games Room & laundry facilities at the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel & would come here again.

"Great Holiday, with little to fault"

10.0

We stayed here for a week, me, my 19yo daughter and 12 yo son. Lovely welcome on arrival, greeted with drinks and helpful reception staff. I enquired about an upgrade before arriving and they had a note of it, however the hotel was fully booked but they did say they would try an accommodate the request during our stay, but we were happy with the room we were allocated. The rooms were spacious and clean and had everything we needed. They were also clea ed on a daily basis with the fridge restocked also. The pool areas were lovely spacious and plenty of sunbeds. I enjoyed the peaceful mornings reading before it started to get busy. We always sat in the middle of the pools next to lifeguard and jacuzzi and there was always spare beds available. There was always staff coming round to collect cups or tumblers to keep it tidy. A few days staff came out around the pool offering fresh watermelon. The lifeguards were always good at keeping an eye on things and would address anything very quickly. We did walk down to the infinity pool one day, however this did get very busy, but we preferred up by the other pools. Pool towels can be changed every 2days and you have a card to be stamped for this. I do have to agree the towels were frayed and not in the best condition on one of the times we went, but we had our own towels with us anyway, so not a big issue. There was entertainment on quite a few afternoons from outside acts, which was nice to have as well as the usual pool games and activities with the entertainment team. The snack bar, I thought was one of the best ones I've experienced on holiday and the staff were so good and efficient. At times there was a queue, but it was never there for long. Great choice of food for snacks and self service for drinks. The bar next to stage was our go to and rhe staff were always so friendly and quick to serve you. Maria and Michalis stood out for us however every staff member was great there! The ice cream was amazing and plenty of choice, again the happiest person serving you! You can also get popcorn here. The buffet restaurant I was quite impressed with and felt it was the best choice of food I have experienced for being AI. There were different stations on a night with speciality dishes which was nice. On occassion there was a few people before us waiting ro be seated but this was never a big queue and we never waited more than a minute or two to be seated. The waterpark was good fun and enough to keep everyone occupied. This was never really that busy when we went. The table tennis was round by the playback and had a sandy kind of ground so we didnt really go there and play. The games room was quite small, however this room got exceptionally warm. My soon liked to play pool but could only manage a game at a time as it was quite uncomfortable to be in as theres no air con. The onsite shop was very well stocked and the ladies were very pleasant. This also had good opening times. The entertainment was ok, but thats down to personal preference. There was a few acts that came in and sang which were ok. This did finish at 10.30 due to the noise levels the hotels have ro adhere to, which was the same for the adjacent hotel. There was a pool party on Tuesday night which we saw before we went out and it looked like good fun. They did put some entertainment on at the Terrace on this night, however I dont think there was anything else.on any other nights there. We used the Courtesy room on our day of departure, which was absolutely fine and the staff were helpful with taking our cases to the luggage room also. A really lovely hotel and great standard, which I would happily go back to.

"Excellent"

10.0

We have had the best week in Atlantica Aegean blue hotel, it was our first time doing an all inclusive with children and I can honestly say it was a great experience, the hotel was catered well for children and made sure they were happy and comfortable throughout, the staff have all been so lovely, I am also gluten free and they have been so good with the choices of food and care, Cindy, Jessie and Theo have made sure I was well looked after and happy so Thankyou to them. My little boy loves ice cream which was great when we saw the all inclusive ice cream, every day we would go the the ice cream shop/ parlour to get a delicious ice cream with many flavours to choose from, we was very lucky with the staff their too Kalliopi and Petroula were so lovely, so friendly and made you want to come back for more, they were so amazing with our son, who had a wonderful relationship with them, the staff makes it all worth while and makes you want to return! Also finally the lovely lady ( Maria) who tidy our room every morning, always made the effort to say hello and speak to us and our son, she made such an effort to make you feel at home and the room was always tidy and comfortable

"Great holiday"

10.0

This was our third holiday on this hotel. We are satisfied with everything. Food selection vary every evening with changing themes and taste is good. Asian night was our favorite. The beach with grass is great because sand doesn't follow you in your feet on your sunbed. Water was warm on swimming pools and also in the sea. Special thanks to Petroula on Gelato bar. She smiles for everyone and is lovely chatter. 😍 Gelato ice cream were wonderful. Bubblegum and mint chocolate was our favorite flavours!

"Huge disappointment - 3 star at best"

4.0

Huge disappointment - have never felt so misled reading previous reviews. I spoke with one guest who said he’d been given free access to their sister hotel (normally 95€ per person per day) in return for a good review! Soon realised how this place has the rest of its reviews. Here’s some things I wish I’d known before booking which means I wouldn’t have wasted thousands on 2 rooms. I will start with the pros 1) comfy beds. Rooms nice enough - we paid for upgrade, but no doors to bathrooms and 1 badly frosted door to toilet with again no locks 2) lovely lady working at Gelateria - Petroula - she was brilliant and is in a different league to the rest of the staff 3) food at lunch was edible - not bad - but we stuck with noodles, or yoghurt with granola (not sure how wrong you can go with this!) 4) waterpark next to hotel good for kids (when not busy and rings available) 5) shop in hotel has most of what u need eg medicines toys floats etc Cons Buffet food and food experience horrendous. We ended up paying to eat out a couple times instead of the free meals. It’s chaos, no system, kids running everywhere, watching kids pick up foods themselves then put back when changing their minds. Found foreign object in my food one morning, didn’t bother going back to breakfast after this. All food sauces thickened and synthetic plastic taste. Our kids will eat most things, even they struggled here Drinks were terrible. Wines not drinkable (we paid for additional bottled wine at night as free wines and cocktails foul). I tried most of the cocktails over the week, all sickly sweet thick sugary consistency - not drinkable. Spirits also poor. Could just about manage the rose mixed with soda water during the day - at a push. A lot of the staff were rude, cleaners especially. Daughter was poorly one morning and we had doctor called out so we had do not disturb sign on until about 11 whilst he visited - they proceeded to say they had finished with our block now so can’t, I explained the situation and they huffed, spoke to each other in Greek and moaned again they had finished our block. I just asked for clean towels instead. Also 2 days one of beds not made. Cups never replaced with clean ones, milk and coffee rarely replenished. Given towels for pool - only allowed to change every 2 days?! And the quality was dire! Threadbare and stained! Check in experience unpleasant - we had rang in advance to see if our rooms could be near each other and told this would be fine. Arrived to say one room had been downgraded to “meet our request”! Without telling us. Explained this was not what we had asked, and they proceeded to say “we will see if any others available!” Eventually rectified. So noisy at night, despite us not going to bed until 11 we were kept awake a few times until 3am with loud chatting and laughing as walls so thin Beach pebbly, no hotel beds, yes hotel is next to the sea, but I feel calling it a a beach is a big stretch. The door out is lethal - v heavy, doesn’t stop (automatic) if someone steps in front. Entertainment weird - Inappropriate for young kids, poor singers etc, we chose to spend evenings in rooms as really poor Constantly asking for photos at night just so you buy them - you’d say no to one and there’d be 2 more throughout the evening trying to get you to buy photos We stayed in a 4 star all inclusive in Spain last year and decided to upgrade and pay for a 5 star - I have never been so disappointed in a holiday decision and would advise people to consider twice before booking here

"Just read my review - I feel sorry for some of the staff as they have no idea how bad it is!"

4.0

Not sure who rates this hotel 5* but they have clearly never stayed in a good hotel Let go through the bad bits first You get your T towels sorry Beach Towels changed every 2 days, (never had that before) the reason is they look like they are about to be thrown so any more washing will result in them disintegrating - I will attach a picture of the luxury beach towels so you can see what they are like. Water in your room, yep you get fresh every 2 days - if you want more you have to buy from the shop Mini had 2 beers 2 cokes Pool packed with kids - says adults only but no one says anything No waiter service anywhere In the buffer its water beer or wine - no spirits or prosecco Pool bar shuts 5:30 1 ala cart restaurant per week Fight for sun beds every morning Buffet same every night and bland Lunch Snack bar like a bad McDonald’s No beach Room walls like paper Furniture dated and tired 1 waiter to 10 tables at dinner and queues to even get in Food cups and beakers strewed around the pool as no staff to clean Room cards stop working nearly everyday Bar staff non existent or 2 bar staff with 20 people waiting Groundsman decided to cut the grass at 11am when everyone’s sat on a sunbed enjoying (I use that word loosely) Good points Leaving the hotel to come home
