Alameda Apartment

We liked the property a great deal. The location was great, the size of the rooms and the cleanliness.

We were very upset that the oven didn’t work and wasn’t fixed while we were there. It impacted significantly on our holiday. I would not have booked a property without an oven as we planned to eat in the flat several times to save money. It was disappointing that this situation was not handled in the best way.

Good location - relatively quiet :) nice balcony,

the tiny shower in this en-suite bathroom was living its life ;) if you wanted to have hot water you had to open the tap in the sink. I guess the is a problem with water pressure.

Our flight got to Faro at 19.00.. 7pm. We got a taxi but as it was 20.15 before we reached the apartment. I had phoned when plane landed as requested. We were told e40 charge. When I made the booking e30. was the LATE FEE. I explained this but had to give e40. I think all the information about a LATE FEE should be clear before any booking is made. It was clear we were the first booking of the season, (end of Feb). No basics were provided for breakfast only a few tea bags and 2 coffee pods.

The collection of keys was poorly communicated. The person on the phone did not bother to give us exact information over the phone. There were 2 addresses. We waited at one of the addresses for a while before getting someone to bring us to another location. We do not know the look of the person bringing us to the property. While we were standing and waiting for the person, a drunk man harassed us on the street. I have to say, it was not a pleasant experience after a long flight and just wanted to settle. The property seems to be managed by an agent. They charge late check-in fee which was not listed during booking. No air-con on the property. It was so hot and a bit unbearable.

We loved the spacious, modern apartment and we're pleased how walkable it was to all the interesting places Faro has to offer and also to some delightful restaurants. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It had a good sized balcony with table and chairs, overlooking a pleasant tree lined, grassed area popular with dog owners. Beautiful Jardim da Alameda Joao de Deus was just at the top of the road. My Choice were very accommodating in allowing us to leave our luggage after vacating the apartment.

Although the apartment was well equipped unfortunately we needed to contact the office to rectify a few small problems- new batteries for the boiler (who knew!!) improved hot water problem. Also, we would have appreciated instructions in the apartment on using the oven as we couldn't fathom it out, but help arrived in the form of a WhatsApp video. The My Choice staff were very friendly and professional so all was well.

The guy who came to bring the keys was nice and easy to chat with, made the process calming.

A filled bottle of water - it was empty so we could fill it as we needed, but it would have been lovely to have a cup right at that moment.

Great apartment, lovely balcony, everything you could want or need 5 minutes walk from city centre. Very nice lady as point of contact. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Air con wasn't really needed but would maybe be nice.

The Apartment have a good size and the Layout is good. The Apartment have a comfortable size of Balcony and the Location is 10 min. walking distance from the old Town.

The Handover of the Keys have been acceptable. (10 min. waiting time) during our Handover we mentioned that one Ventilator was broken and the Guy mentioned to Organize one until the evening (the Vent never arrived during whole stay) The Flat is very badly Isolated and is getting pretty hot in the Summer... unfortunately no Air Condition and with a broken Ventilator you cant really sleep. Some major Topics are not function well. 1) Electricity (several Power outages) 2) Water Supply the showers are having a very bad Water supply and it is very hot or ice cold but with a very little water stream... - not acceptable at all. 3) Shower Cabin in one of the rooms is 66cm in width and length this would be acceptable for kids but the Armature ( Water mixer) is stealing 17cm of it. Showering in the Cabin becomes like a circus acrobatic show...in combination with very hot or very cold Water.....aiaiaiai. 4) If you like Coffee... hopefully you have your own Expresso machine with you... I have never experienced such a bad Version of machine... the Capsules are a bit tricky to get but even if you get them...my gosh... that´s why Starbucks got so big... luckily we only had 2 Day´s to stay... Absolutely not to recommend... every paid penny is like throwing it into the trash... PS: Bed Mattress... I hope you are not sensitive...otherwise.... Good Luck !!!
