The whole place is run down . You are greeted with a bucket of fag ends and rubbish around the entrance. The whole place stinks and the room was disgusting and bathroom mouldy . We walked straight back out and did not stay

GBIt is a wonderful old creaky building, which has a welcome on its doorstep….from the moment you walk in you meet real people. The staff are genuinely friendly, funny, happy and will always go the extra step for you. You are never made to feel just like another punter. The rooms are nicely decorated with period furniture. The bathrooms have recently been done up …the jacuzzi baths or showers which have jets everywhere, flashing lights and even music if you want it. The tv has numerous channels and all of them work and the wifi is strong and reliable. The food is tremendous. The Wednesday steak night is such great value…grilled sirloin…cooked to perfection, served with field mushroom, beef tomatoe, corn on the cob, hand cut chunky chips and a sauce a choice of wine beer or a soft drink all for less than £20. the next night we ate duck breast…it was art on a plate and one of the most perfectly cooked meals we’ve had for a while…..The chef is very talented…breakfasts were also plentiful and well cooked. Thank you to everyone…we’ve been before and we will be coming again .

GBThe hotel was great, in need of a refurb/tidy up, but was still friendly and had everything we needed. Jeanette was very helpful and served an amazing breakfast. Outside area was large but seating wasn’t comfy. The train station being across the road was great, we used it a lot. When we returned from a day out was a little disappointed that they stopped serving food at 6pm.
Outside seating very uncomfortable. No food after 6pm. Needs an update.

Restaurant is closing at 6pm on Sunday. But there was not problem to seat in the hotel's garden and order take away.

No one told us that there was going to be wedding there that night. Was very loud. The showers were terrible
