Handsome room in an atmospheric property with a lot of history and character. Manager very happy to chat and share his knowledge of the area, and love of music! Good value, tasty breakfast.

My room was onto the street, which was a little noisy from traffic but not really that bad

Everything. Relaxed welcome. Good sized room with very comfortable bed. Clean, large bathroom with all facilities you could need. Nice bar.

No shower facility.

Booked last minute as we were attending a wedding reception close by & was not disappointed! Lovely building in a great location & very comfortable room. Hosts were lovely & very helpful, we even had a coffee with them before we left the next morning. Could not fault 😁

This is a very small point but could you please but a shelf or stand in the bathroom to hold toiletries etc.

The bath! Big fan, it was huge. As was the very comfy bed. The bar area was great; lovely decor, stunning stained glass windows, drinks selection and full of character. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We went on a Monday and quite a few of the good restaurants close by are closed on a Monday, for example the 3 italian restaurants that I had my heart set on. But there are plenty of other places we could eat, and I think we could have eaten at the hotel if I had arrived earlier. However it was my fault and absolutely no fault at the Silk House.

Comfy bed ,clean room nice staff on arrival

Locked up by 9 and was locked up in the morning to although advertised as having a bar and restaurant it was closed by then. Didn't seem to be manned overnight so little more than an air bnb really . If you only want a room then great .If you like a hotel bar then choose elsewhere .

I liked some of the historical features. The staff were very friendly.

The road noise was horrendous, no double or secondary glazing. The mattress on the bed was like sleeping on a sponge.
