Hotel Residenz

Very German: a four- star hotel, beautiful hardware, crap soft stills. We went down to have breakfast, a lot of big flies were gravitating around the meal. I asked the staff if they could Cover the food, they said flies were "normal" and should not be so demanding. Later in the evening, at around 21.50, I fancied a glsss of wine in the bar just to be told that it was closed. In a four - Star hotel, at that hour. The next Day I went down to read the news on my laptop, at around 14.00,, the room was empty, disturbing no one. The owner came in saying to leave as they needed to cover the table for dinner. I left just to notice that they did not Cover anything and the room was further empty. Consequently, I checked out one day earlier. When paying, as custode, I Iisted my complaints just to be told by the owner that I was nosy and arrogant. I replied he should be trained to Listen to customers and that his reply was not ok. I also said he should attend a course in customer service and that I was going to post this on Trip Advisor. He said he did not care.

The hotel is situated in the center, the mall is nearby and that' s the best thing I can say. The junior suite is quite expensive, rather small and has a odd and impractical shape. There is only one decent chair in a double room and worst of all: there's no airco. The room temperature rose to a tropical level and opening the patio doors means letting in the mosquitos and the noise from a rather busy road. The kingsize bed is actually consisting of two single mattresses which are way too soft. You have to pay extra for parking on the private parking lot. The owner does the checking out and he doesn't even ask how your stay was. Pay up and leave please ...

We had a wonderful time in the Hotel Residenz. The Hotel is close to the city center with a lot of shops. We had a double bad room which was really clean. Unfortunately the room was way too hot hence the missing air con. The breakfast (Buffet) was excellent with a lot of choices.

We bookedHotel Residenz as we attended a wedding at this place. So we had no real choice. The hotel has been renovated and we liked the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The wedding dinner and the breakfast were really good, but they were paid additionally. So our booking was just about the room. It is spacious and the bathroom is nice. However, the room was far too warm. We did not get a double bed and the matrasses were far too soft. The hotel receives three stars from us based on the poor value for money ratio and the minor issues we had with the room. Guests apparently receive one voucher for wifi access per room, with which you can connect one device at a time.

I have stayed in this hotel multiple times over the past 3 years & always found it clean with a very pleasant staff. The hotel is an easy walk to the city center where there many good restaurants some interesting older buildings. I've always found the breakfast to be quite pleasant & far better than anything one would ever see in an American hotel (particularly at this price point). The weather during my stay was unusually warm so the lack of air conditioning in the room was noticeable, but doesn't really detract from an otherwise very pleasant experience. I will certainly stay there again when/if I ever return to Bocholt.

Stayed here sadly for just the one night while on a business trip. The hotel staff were very friendly & the food in the restaurant superb. The hotel is in an excellent location for shopping & exploring the surrounding area,I will definatly be back

Stayed for two nights with my wife whilst on a business trip. We have not stayed at this hotel for approx six years, although regularly having to stay in the area. The hotel is clean and tidy with high standards. Our two evening meals were of very good quality although the service was slow on the first night. We would like to give a big thank you to Tobias and Alexandra who did well serving our meal and drinks. Our bedroom was hot, for ventilation there were two patio doors that we opened on the first night, but facing the busy main road we suffered from road noise. The second night we opened the doors whilst at dinner and closed them when we went to bed, but at approx 0100hrs we could not stand the heat so we opened the doors again. On both nights we had very little sleep. I am amazed that although the hotel advertises "sky" TV there are no English speaking channels whilst we were there approx 35% of the guests were English speaking. The Internet was slow and kept disengaging, we had to pump in the pass word several times in a hour. If there was air conditioning and the TV had a English Channel we would have given 4 stars.

I went to the Residenz during a business trip in Bocholt, the place wasn't so expensive, i paid like 90€ and the service was just wonderful : fluent english person at the lobby, calm and cosy place. The room was in a perfect state : clean, in a perfect order, and most of all, really luxurious. I enjoyed every bit of my stay in there! Great place!

I have now stayed at the Residenz Hotel three times, for business. The rooms are spacious with large windows and some sweet views of the local neighborhood. The restaurant is delicious and the breakfast is wonderful. Note: unlike The U.S., the breakfast is all about the savory not the sweet and sticky. The hotel is small and intimate with approximately 30-40 rooms. The is a bar off the lobby. The Residenz is walking distance to the shopping district of Bocholt and there are 2 grocery stores a short stroll away. There is no air conditioning but it doesn't really get all that hot there...the nights are cool. We enjoyed sitting on the patio behind the restaurant for cocktails. In the winter, the town of Bocholt becomes a Christmas wonderland of traditional holiday shops and events.

I have stayed here on 3 occasion through work. Each time my rooms have been different, all very spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. There is a good selection at breakfast.
