Miyajima Shiro

It was well thought out. The bathrooms and bedrooms were beautiful. The design is gorgeous. Big kitchen with clean appliances and well stocked. Lovely lounge area and fast wifi.

The main toilet shared with other guests stank of urine; pets. It didn’t feel clean.,The outdoor area looked nice but was not usable as covered in spiderwebs and very dirty. The house had a damp smell. A very big trek from the Ferry with cases, along sand and cobblestones (broke a case) and we like a good walk. Tip for future visitors- run down to the ferry terminal and get a taxi to bring you back to the room to pick up your luggage. It’s cheap and worth it. The owners were not very helpful or quick with questions. We paid for 3 people but had to make one of the beds ourselves even though we paid a premium price. As an AIRBnb manager I found this to be unacceptable.

Location was fantastic and within easy walking distance from the waterfront, the Tori Gate, the temples and the shopping strip. Once the sun goes down, all of the touristy shops close and the island becomes beautifully quiet. Book ahead for restaurants as there are not many open once the tourists go home. The ones that are open are fantastic though! This property is also pet friendly, with supplies provided to help clean up after your pet.

The check in process felt a little clunky, but we worked it out in the end and it didn't detract from our stay. Visitors need to be aware this is a shared accommodation, so there is a chance other visitors could be staying in other rooms within the property. This didn't happen during our stay, we had the place to ourselves.

Our stay at Miyajima Shiro was a delightful experience. Nestled in a peaceful area just a short walk from Itsukushima Shrine, the ryokan offered a blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The rooms were clean, well-equipped, and ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring the island. We especially appreciated the cozy shared spaces that added to the calm atmosphere. Whether you're traveling with family, as a couple, or solo, Miyajima Shiro is a wonderful choice for a restful and authentic stay on Miyajima Island.

刀具已生鏽、沒有多準備備用水桶。房間真的很小。入住平板因為網路通訊不良，一直無法順利使用，請更新設備與網路，我花了20分鐘，最終是連接我自己手機的網路分享，才可以順利登錄，事前也已經取得QRCODE，現場也沒有用，很差勁的入住體驗。
