Residence Inn by Marriott Merida

Residences Inn by Marriott has all the essential needs when you’re traveling for business, but it may not be the best choice if you’re in Mérida for tourism as it’s too far from the main attractions. To start with, I reserved a room with city view and I got a ground floor room facing a wall. The room was big, with a little kitchenette; the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. However, there were some silly design blunders. For example, the safe box was so high that only a ver tall person could reach. Also, the toilet paper dispenser was right underneath the towel hanger, so after taking a shower and hanging the towel, the toilet paper ended up hidden under the towel. There was a shampoo and conditioner dispenser in the shower, but the shampoo bottle was empty. Also, I didn’t get hot water the first two days. Breakfast was good in general, but if you got in near closing time (10 AM) chances were that some food items were no longer available

A very pleasant property with all the amenities at a reasonable price. Friendly, attentive staff. In an upscale part of town, so the central district isn’t within walking distance.

I liked the pool area on the roof and bathrooms everywhere which were clean

La calidad de los servicios recibidos es cada vez peor… El desayuno se acaba todo muy rápido y cada vez con menos opciones. Platos sucios, sábanas arrugadas, no sirven los electrodomésticos de la habitación, se sale toda el agua de la regadera, no calienta bien el agua, te dan solo una botellita de agua, no sirve el teléfono, almohadas incómodas… Bien ubicado y en general limpio y bien pero hemos visto cómo se va deteriorando!

From check-in to check-out, our stay could not have been better. The front desk clerks were all so helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The breakfast was delicious…eggs, pancakes, sausage, two types of potatoes, beans salsa, chilaquiles, chicken stew, a beef dish one morning, and all the other typical breakfast items, cereal, fruit, yogurt, cheese, ham, pastries. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Three small issues - it took a very long time for the water in the shower to get hot, a faint sewer smell came from the garbage disposable, and the lighting in the bathroom is not very bright. Other than that, great place to stay.

We love how helpful, efficient and kind the staff was. Breakfast was delicious and with variety. Location is very good. A mall is right in front and it was very easy get an Uber from there.
