Lucky Tuna

We went to Lucky Tuna a number of times during our 4 day stay. Cocktails are good and coffee is pod coffee. The highlight is evening dining on the beach with the sand under your feet. There was plenty of fresh seafood to select from (on ice on the beach). We love whole fish, bbq prawns and squid. We were in our element. A must visit restaurant and location in Sri Lanka.

We stayed here for one night in Unawatuna. We went from hotel to hotel to decide where to stay and decided on the Lucky Tuna for one main reason- the beachfront rooms with big balconies overlooking the ocean! The staff were lovely and very acommodating. The power went off due to a storm during the night but the loss of air con didn't matter as the breeze through the balcony doors was lovely. We had dinner and cocktails here as well - they make an amazing mojito (plenty of mint and lime, and tailored to how I like it!) and we had beautiful grilled calamari. They literally BBQ the food in front of you and you can select a wide array of fresh caught seafood. There was wifi in the restaurant only, but we didn't need it in the rooms- we didn't travel to Unawatuna beach to stay in a hotel room all day! Definitely would recommend.
