The location and proximity to Julian. Never really explored this part of socal. I loved the hot tub and cold plunge although it’s just for one person or a couple at a time.

I wish there were less lights on the premises, being that it’s in a dark sky community. It was a little noisy between the refrigerator and hot tub running.

It was a lovely, quiet place to stay. I had a hillside room (i.e. no lake view). However, that was fine as I could watch the scores of birds that visited the rose garden. The breakfast room and adjoining patios provide a view of the lake an a peaceful location to sit and read.

Beautifully decorated for a hotel at its price with furniture and wall hangings from Asia and Buddhist statues. Good breakfast , nice balcony, hot tub overlooking the lake , very comfortable room , tasty vegetarian meals you can order, very nice staff .

All great but fyi - no swimming in the lake . Also make sure to get a room facing the lake - the "garden view" really faces the parking lot .
