Quiet Mind Mountain Lodge, Retreat & Spa

Went for our 40th anniversary and had a great time; we spent one of the days in San Diego and another day at Anzo-Borrego Desert State Park, as the Lodge location is very centrally located to each. Julian is lovely and the apple pies sold there are true to their reputation! Lake Cuyumaca is a bit less "pristine" than an alpine lake; however, the Blue Herons, Canadian Geese, and White Pelicans were lovely. The lake is a short walk from the lodge, however, no swimming is allowed. The lodge provided a good breakfast daily, and I was pleased to find hot coffee brewed throughout the day. We did not choose any of the specialty meals offered. Breakfast is served in a common area, where we had the chance to chat with other travellers. The room was as described, and the amenities were nice. We enjoyed the hot-tub but did not choose to participate in any of the "spa" treatments that were offered. Note: the actual town of Julian is about 9 miles drive from the lodge and the lake; there is however, a restaurant at the lake center, less than half a mile from the lodge. We were there off-season, non-weekend days and were surprised how full the lodge was.

The Jacuzzi outside while you can watch the stars was a real plus. I also enjoyed the breakfast with a lake view.

Very quiet. Outside is very cool with zen gardens and local flora and fauna. The lake view from the room is awesome. Sunrise is beautiful. Staff is excellent. Customer service is excellent.

Room felt a little crowded with furniture. The chairs inside to sit and watch the lake aren’t intimate with a significant other due to the giant table between them.

A beautiful reset for our relationship My partner and I booked the Intentional Love all inclusive package for a much needed reset, and it ended up being one of the most meaningful trips we have taken together. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, unhurried and thoughtfully curated for couples. Our suite had a peaceful lake view and it instantly felt like a sanctuary. Having our meals delivered to the room was one of our favorite parts. The food was fresh, comforting and honestly some of the best we have had at a retreat. We loved the wellness lattes in the morning and the rose petal jacuzzi at night felt so special and romantic. The sessions that were part of the retreat were the highlight for both of us. The couples coaching helped us talk about things we had been putting off, but in a way that felt gentle and supportive. The spa amenities such as the sauna, steam shower, jacuzzi and cold plunge gave us time to slow down and reconnect without any distractions. The staff were kind and welcoming. They checked in when needed and also gave us plenty of privacy which we really appreciated. Everything felt very sincere and personal. We left feeling closer, more grounded and truly grateful for the experience. It was more than a romantic getaway. It helped us reconnect in a meaningful way and remember why we chose each other. We are already talking about coming back. Highly recommend for any couple wanting a deeper experience together.

My partner and I wanted a relaxing getaway and were so fortunate to find this place. The lake view suites look out on a beautiful vista. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the whole place has a peaceful vibe. We loved the meditation room. The sauna and massage were so relaxing. We liked that we could order food and eat in our room or in the dining area. We hiked around the lake and then came back for a tranquil evening. It was wonderful.

I stayed here recently for a quiet getaway and had a really relaxing stay. My room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the lake, which made the mornings feel peaceful. I booked the chakra balancing massage with Lorien and it ended up being one of the best treatments I’ve ever had. She has such a calming presence and the whole session made me feel grounded and reset. The food was also a pleasant surprise. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and I actually loved every meal I had. It felt like real cooking rather than typical hotel food. The staff checked in with me by text, so I never had trouble reaching someone when I needed anything. This is definitely more of a nature retreat than a traditional hotel, so the quiet atmosphere really worked for me. I left feeling rested and would happily come back.
