MainStay Suites Waukee-West Des Moines

Very nice extended stay option in the West Des Moines area. Staff was fabulous. Breakfast was very good. Did not access the pool,. The gym was adequate. The room has a comfortable bed and couch, pull out table, great storage, dishwasher, stove top, microwave, and full refrigerator. I would definitely recommend staying there, and will book a return visit in the near future.

Tub would not drain

The rooms were great - you had everything you needed and more. Breakfast was wonderful !

Bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have expected and offered minimal toiletries. Breakfast was better than expected.

Room needed repairs. TV didn't work. Was fixed the first night but didn't work after it was shut off.

I have stayed at this property on and off for the past 3 years! I love the Mainstay side it has a full kitchen and great work area when I am working I love to spread out and have everything within reach. Rooms have always been clean and comfortable with great staff. Breakfast is good with eggs, sausage, waffles and an assortment of breads and dairy. Love my room better than most in the West Des Moines area. Not sure why all the negative reviews but never has this been my experience I return every few months and have a great experience each time! Thanks to all the workers for making this my home away from home!

Had a great stay.

We had a 2 night stay. A colony of ants descended upon our room Saturday morning, attracted by a ziplog bag near the window containing a tube of toothpaste. They quickly spread to the bed and other locations in the room. We reported this immediately and the clerk at the front desk took pictures, apologizing profusely. The hotel was able to get another room for us, with just one bed, for our second night, We were visiting family in town so the kids were able to bunk with their cousins. We were happy to be able to continue with our plans. Since our new room was currently occupied we packed everything up and stashed it in the car for the day, inspecting everything and shaking it out in the parking lot. Imagine my surprise when we returned later in the day and it was explained to me that the manager, who never spoke to me, had inspected the room only to find no ants, and instructed the young man at the front desk to ask me if it was at all possible that we had somehow brought them along with us? Hundreds of ants. That we had presumably somehow packed up again and removed from the room? Um, ok. I said that was not possible at all, and was then reassured that the manager would be "following up" with me on Monday to discuss the issue. I had planned to suggest calling their pest control service. It's Wednesday now and I've had no contact from the hotel. I did however get prompted to leave a review about my experience, so here it is.

Great location near my event. Hotel is well maintained and serviced. Thanks to Chris at the front desk.
