Quinta de Marrocos

Cesar was an excellent host, ensuring all of our needs were well taken care of. He gave us a detailed tour and explanation of the port/wine making processes. Port was yummy! We bought a half of case of the 10-year white. The vineyards were beautiful to explore. The location was great, along with a lovely view of the Douro Valley.

Apple maps sent us awry and the entrance to the Quinta is at the back of the buildings so it doesn't feel like an actual entrance, leading us to drive around for quite awhile before finding it.

The property is wonderful, with great views. We were able to roam through the property, and pick fresh oranges from their trees and made new furry friends with the farm dogs, Jackie and Oscar. And their wine is very good! Breakfast was includd and plenty of options, including fresh squeezed orange juice from their orange trees. We booked the dinner tasting our first night's stay and it was all fantastic, same for the lunch and tour we had the following day. The food was terrific, the wines paired with the meals were perfect and the service was phenomenal. Lots of history with this vineyard. Cesar, the owner, was on site, along with Andre a staff member- they were both so friendly and made sure we were comfortable the entire stay. If we end up visiting the Douro Valley again, I would certainly stay here again!

No fault of the Quinta, 1 bathroom for 4 people was tough at the chalet guest house- next time I would book 2 separate rooms in their main guest house as their other guest rooms have their own private bathrooms

It was a working winery with option for dinner and breakfast was included.

Et fantastisk sted som må oppleves! Man settes tilbake i tid og finner roen i nydelige omgivelser. Dette er å være hjemme hos herlige Cesar på 82 år. Godt utgangspunkt for ekspedisjoner i Douro-dalen.

Beautiful commendations the place was so charming, loaded with antiques. We had a most wonderful time. the staff and the owner were wonderful and attended to all our needs! Wine and Port from the estate is also pretty awesome.

We are unable to think of any negatives during our stay other then it was to short.

This is a unique stay in the family quinta of Jorge Sequeira who is a most gracious host. All of his staff including Diana were friendly and helpful. Do plan to spend some time by the fireplace in the big communal living room and definitely bring your appetite and make a reservation for a cuzhina tradicional dinner. And if you have somehow managed to not see your share of winery tours in the Douro Valley, they will be happy to give you a tour of theirs.
