Elk Springs Resort

The resort was fun and relaxing however, there were items on the menu at the resort restaurant that were not available. We did not have cell phone service at our cabin online. It showed that we would have a landline service at our cabin however, it did not work I reported it to the front desk and they told me that it was unknown problem throughout the resort that they were unable to get fixed. we stayed in the ERICA cabin and it was super clean very comfortable although the couch needed a great deal of updating the cabin was very cool with the AC running. The bed was super comfortable when it was very hot. The cabin was in a very secluded shaded area along the river. We did get amazing service at the resort restaurant by Autumn. She was our waitress every time we dine there and she provided amazing service and deserves a promotion. She is an exceptional waitress and make sure her customers are happy and meets the needs of their dining experience. The front desk seem to be unsure about any of our concerns regarding the phone not working the TV literally being 14 inches to corner and diameter in the bedroom. If you are like my husband and I we have to have the TV on to fall asleep at night and this caused a great deal of issues. The TV was so tiny. I am a germaphobic. to the point that I do not shower, barefoot or sleep on the sheets or blanket provided by the resort, hotel, motel and breakfast, etc. at this resort I felt completely comfortable walking around barefoot taking a shower barefoot and I even slept in the sheets that we're already on the bed even though we brought our own to put on the bed just in case the only changes we made is we took the beautiful quilt off the bed and use our blanket that we brought from home and that's only because from experience the quilts don't always get laundered every time the place is cleaned. Not to say that this does not happen at this resort but in past experiences, this has happened at other resorts hotels/motels so we just play on the safe side if you are a germaphobe you will feel quite at home there is no dishwasher in the ERICA cabin and there is no Wi-Fi at the ERICA cabin. I did utilize the washer and dryer to wash a blanket and it worked perfectly. They provided laundry detergent, fabric softener, and they had little bottles of shampoo and conditioner for use when showering One thing I do want to mention is that if you rent the ERICA cabin, you do have to carry all your belongings across a fairly long bridge to get to your cabin. The cabin is not accessible to motor vehicles. as far as the restaurant is concerned, we did not have a single bad meal. Everything was excellent but it was $20-$30 a plate depending on what you ordered and if you ordered a soda, it was almost 3 dollars Per person they did have a nice gift shop where you could buy shirts and different souvenirs and of course, if you are a fly fisherman, this is a fly fisherman's Paradise. We did not go there to fish. It was nice and relaxing to just stand there and watch the trout swim in the water overall I do recommend this place and I would go back again. It was a wonderful getaway for the weekend just to forget about everything that is going on in your present life and stress that you deal with daily. I completely forgot about all that while we were there what a wonderful experience!!

We went there for a weekend, what a beautiful place to go to and relax perfect. If you like trout fishing lots of that to be done there around the area. Excellent for family reunions. Place is wonderful. Thanks again

Wonderful stay. Friendly staff. Ellie May's food was delicious. Clean. Quiet location.

We just stopped for the fish hatchery part, but really enjoyed the rest of the property. It was fun feeding the huge fish as they went crazy for the food! They have a nice little store that sells souvenirs and necessities if staying on site. They also have a restaurant, but it does not open until noon. Overall, it was a nice side trip for a half hour or so.

Beautiful

Went for a quick family trip at the end of basketball season to try and squeeze in a ski/board trip. Elk River made check in super easy and even made it possible for us to check in early. The cabin had everything we needed for our trip and Ellie Mays restaurant was awesome. For those that like sweet tea, there’s was on another level. The grounds itself had a lot to offer and my daughter and I did some exploring 2 of the days we were there.

The Hippie suite was perfect for the three of us for our weekend ski trip at Snowshoe. The place was very clean and cozy. Love how we park right at our suite’s doorstep, and the fly shop/restaurant is just across the street. Check-in was a breeze. The food selection at the restaurant was pretty good. The road to get to Elk Springs Resort is a little narrow - we often had pull off the road a little and stop to let other cars pass, especially with the snow and ice. Other than that, this stay was a 10/10, would book again!

I have stayed at this resort multiple times. It is superb. The cabins are warm and smell of cedar plank. Usually stay in the primitive cabins, for the simpleness, peace and quiet. The hotel styled rooms are nice also, if you need Wi-Fi and prefer the in room amenities they offer. Point mountain cabin is basically a house smack dab in the middle of multiple fishy waterways, and a beautiful one at that. You can’t make a bad reservation at this resort. But above all these pleasantries is the staff here. Bonita, Amanda, J, Jessie and Lacy, river guides like Matt, will treat you as family and ensure you have a great experience, no matter what the intentions of your trip are, Be it fishing the elk or skiing in snowshoe or just getting out into nature. You will not be disappointed if you go. If you go, you will be back. If this resort existed way back when, and Earnest Hemingway visited, he would have moved out of Havana and never looked back.

We stayed in the Nascar room. The mattress on the Dale Jr side of the room needs to be replaced. Everything else was excellent.

Each cabin/unit has a different theme. We stayed in the "Harley" unit which was beautifully decorated in Harley colors and decor. Room was very clean and attention to detail had been taken.
